How to identify my Z2 phone ?

2019-02-11, 13:43 PM

In about phone, it only shows Phone name as "Moto Z2". But I can't find Moto Z2 support forum here.

Does this mean my phone is Moto Z2 force ?

It's either a Z2 Play or a Z2 Force.  Those were the only two models of Z2 released.  Is the Moto logo on the top of the phone?  That's a Z2 Play.  Or is the Moto logo on the bottom of the phone?  That's a Z2 Force.

There is a model number beside the charging port on my Verizon z2 force: XT1789-01.

Check your model number and google it.

Hi tjyang,

You would know the model of your phone by going to the Settings > System > About Phone > Model.

Settings > System > About Phone > Model doesn't exist on my phone.

Settings > System > About Phone > phone name shows Moto z2

Settings > System > About Phone > hardware information > sku shows XT1789-01

I think the About Phone > Model option was removed with the Oreo update

Please take this report as RFE(Request For Enhancement).  It really doesn't look good for motorola to have   their customers  resolved to google their phone model number.

Hi tjyang,

I'd like to make sure of this. Can you please update your profile with current phone, carrier and serial number -- this will help me investigate. Please make sure that the options under Settings > Motorola Privacy are on as well.

Need help updating your profile? See here.
