Re: Left swipe to Google not working

2018-03-29, 13:42 PM

After I read the recent post I checked my Z Force (Droid model) and noticed that the swipe access for Google feed was not working.  It was working fine yesterday, I used it many time throughout the day.  I rebooted my phone and now it appears to be working again.  I keep AppFlash disabled at all times, so don't think AppFlash is interfering (since that is also a swipe access option if that app is enabled).  I wonder if it's a bug in the Google app?  Like I mentioned, it was working fine for me yesterday and I did update the Google app on my phone around 9:00 PM yesterday, and had not checked or used the feature until this morning.

Hi, All.

We want to look further into this, if you can update your profile if you have not done yet, with the IMEI of your device, this can help us investigate and see what's causing the disconnect. Also, kindly send a bug report regarding when the left swipe not working even after disabling app flash and reboot. Bug report will collect information about your current device state

Go to Settings ->Developer options -> Enable USB debugging > Toggle On

Enable Settings -> Developer options -> Enable Bug Report shortcut > Toggle On

Once the issue is reproduced: Go to Settings -> Developer options -> Click on take bug report or Press Power button and then choose Bug Report from the Power down menu.

Wait for some time until the bug report is collected. It takes around 3 to 4 minutes to collect the Bug Report.

Then upload the BugReport to your personal Google Drive and then share the link to the BugReport on the forums in a reply.

Provide observations of what you saw happen right before the bug report was taken. Please indicate the local time when you observed the behavior.

Thanks,

-Swaraj

Hello @Moto_Swaraj.  Thanks for investigating for us.  I sent you link to my bug report via Private Message:

Swipe for Google Now was working fine for.me all morning.  I have been using it to track some packages.  I don't know when it stopped working this morning, but noticed at 12:08 CST that it was not working anymore.  The only things I have been doing with my phone this morning is playing music at work using Play Music via my JBL Sound boost speaker Mod.

I have the same issue on my brand new G5plus which I got 2 days ago. Left swipe for feed was working fine until yesterday evening. I installed a few upgrades this morning -when prompted to- (May 2017, August 2017, Novermber 2017 and January 2018) and it is not working anymore. It might not be related, but the coincidence is interesting. It doesn't work even if I reboot my device.

That's actually kind of good to know, because that may rule out AppFlash since you probably don't have the Verizon AppFlash app on a Moto G5+.  Maybe this is related to the Google app and nothing to do with Verizon specific phones?

I'm positive it has nothing to do with AppFlash as I don't have the Verizon version. I'm in Canada and have the factory unlocked version. Yet I had that issue.

Check if rotation is on for the launcher. If so, turn it off, reboot and check if it still does it.

I have Home screen rotation set to off.  It was working great for me all morning and then just randomly stopped around Noon.
