Mr. Scott,
Let’s get one this straight. This app that we are talking about is a Motorola app, just an older version that works with the android 8.0 update, It’s not hacked, rooted or boot loader unlocked. It says in your rules that there should be no personal attacks, Well I feel like this is a personal attack on me. So close the thread with your admin power and delete my user account for discussing a Motorola app on a Motorola forum.

Thanks for making that available in the other forum jimcapraro and TwoBuells1.  While I was certainly wary of installing an .apk someone posted in a forum somewhere, the only permission it uses is location, and even then, only once you turn on location-based weather.

I am also using Nova Launcher, and unforunately even though it worked just fine before the update, my 5x6 Desktop Grid now causes this widget to be slightly cropped. I had to change my Desktop Grid to 5x7 in order to prevent cropping the top and bottom of the widget, in case anyone else ever runs into the same thing.

On a related note, does anyone know of any widget at all, other than this one, that will actually show Moto Mod battery levels? I certainly don't know of any, which is what made it so frustrating that Moto would deprecate something tied directly to one of the biggest features of this product line.

before I found the Command Center app, I looked all over the play store to find a battery app that would show the Moto Mods' battery, I had no luck, just a lot of battery apps with ads. It is a shame that most of us bought theses Moto Z phones to use with the mods and with the Oreo update, loosing the second battery display in the new CC widget, just seems like they dropped the ball.

I have found that using display size of large with the stock launcher it displays pretty well. The sides get cropped a little bit, but all of the text is presented well.

For those apologists who think this this debacle is an acceptable step forward, you are certainly entitled to your opinion. However, there is just no excuse, especially having the MotoMods functionality baked in. This just laziness pure and simple.

Just like releasing Oreo without ensuring the ability to delete photos within the the stock apps. Beyond dumb.

What's amazing to me is, Oreo has been out for just about a year now and this is just totally unacceptable on every level. Don't you Lenova insiders use your own stuff, for Pete's sake?

I'm an embedded systems programmer and my customers would call the loss of the Command Center a regression. This is a loss of functionality without prior warning or the ability to make a choice, not a trade-off for some unspecified benefit and to suggest otherwise is misleading at best. This is simply a case where Lenovo overlooked or ignored ecosystem applications such as the Command Center to expedite a release, and probably would have simply required recompiling under the Oreo SDK to make it work.

This isn't the first time that this has happened to a device that I own, but it will be Lenovo's last opportunity with me to underperform in this fundamental way.

I never used this widget... after seeing this thread and seeing what it can do I gave it a try and I love it. I didn't know it could show mod battery levels and the weather part can be linked directly to the accuweather app. This thing Is great,

Now you know why this bonehead move is so irritating. They have a purpose built widget to support eye glance status of the battery and proprietary Mods and later, arbitrarily decide we don't need it anymore. Stupid.
