Re: Moto Z Force Bluetooth not working

No I Iive in the UK and sent it to the Lenovo repair centre in the UK via the support page on the Moto website. I should have taken it back to the shop I bought it at, John Lewis has really good customer service and they give you a 2 year guarantee. Although they would probably have sent it to the same place I sent mine to but I dont think I would have had to pay the postage.

Ok, so it sounds like you have a regular moto z not a z force droid that was exclusive to verizon.

But if you had an issue after repair you should have contacted motorola instead of trying to use glue.

Yes mine is a regular sim free moto Z, I wasnt going to spend another £7-8 for tracked postage to send it back to Lenovo and be without a phone another fortnight as I don’t have a spare one any more.  The super glue is holding fine but I realise it will have voided my warranty.

My Bluetooth stopped working after lates upgrade to 7.1.1 and did not work since I bought this phone. Hey could you fix software? developers from Moto Lenovo? It is very said to pay for premium phone like this and just now able to use earphones anymore as you took out 3.5jack. So please solve this issue as the only way to listen music is to connect to Bluetooth . This could be fix just by softwere upgrade. If you don't fix it you will keep loosing your customers by just giving very poor support for those who bought this device. And make please easier way to connect to the support.

If you have tried all the trouble shooting steps and it still doesn't work, you should either get it repaired or replaced if still under warranty. This issue has never happened to my phone and I use Bluetooth all day in my work vehicle and at home. Sounds like a hardware issue to me.

Ok, it didn't happen to you (yet), but we're more than two dozen (and more counting people that didn't find or took time their time to report on this website, there's also plenty people on xda-developer.com with those same issues)...

How can it be a hardware failure if it happen after an update ?

Can an update break my phone ?

If it can't, what is the issue then ?

How could we verify, other than reinstalling the software, and anything else we are ask to do, if it's a hardware failure ?

I have received every update so far without any issues at all. I'm not alone in this either. If this was a massive update failure many more would be effected. I'm just saying if you have a warranty use it before it expires. If a factory reset without backup doesn't fix it, then the odds of it being a software issue is small. Maybe the update causes the issue in some way on some phones. If it did then it damaged the hardware. So a repair or replacement would be advised. I just don't want people thinking it can be fixed in a software update and then running out of warranty. I wish I had another answer to this but I don't.

I can't say if this is hardware or software related; it seems similar to the Turbo 2 charging issue that started right after an OS upgrade.  I can say that I have had my Z Force Droid since last November and have also received every OS & System Version update, never performed a FDR, and have had no Bluetooth issues with my phone.  It's paired with 6 BT devices and has never had any issues.  I agree that if after a FDR, with NO Play Store apps installed, and Bluetooth doesn't work I would get a replacement phone before warranty expires.  We all have different use-cases and situations, but that's what I would do.

I had to get mine replaced 3 times, so when I received the 4th phone I sold it without using it at all.

Each phone I had had the same bluetooth issue (among others)

This seems to be a systemic software issue that somehow gets triggered - motorola needs to troubleshoot it if they want to keep customers. I've been an abused motorola customer for 11 years now, and I finally called it quits (have a Pixel XL now that runs perfectly).

On the 3rd replacement I asked if I could pay some sort of trade-in fee to get the Z force 2, and they said no.

This was really their last chance to keep me (and even get more money out of me) but they just didn't care.

Motorola has the best designs, but the worst quality. (maybe lenovo's fault...not sure)
