Re: Moto Z Force: Nougat upgrade and battery life

2016-12-09, 20:46 PM

It seems to me that battery (standby) took a bit of a hit after the Nougat update.  I factory reset the phone and set up as new, but it didn't seem to make a big difference.  It isn't a whole lot worse than before nougat, but it is noticeable.

My moyo z force droid battery has been draining quickly since the nougat update too. Why is voicemail using so much battery? I haven't even used voicemail today.  The battery life used to be one of the best parts of this phone.  Now if I don't plug it in at night it is hot and dead by morning.

I am hoping that there is some patch coming for the new upgrade. The battery life was okay with the new phone but it's terrible with the upgraded phone. And unfortunately I don't have 4 hours of my life to rebuild the phone and start over from scratch to get a 5% or 7% upgrade in battery life. My phone gets connected to power of 3 to 4 times a day and I'm not a heavy user. What happened Moto Z?

I found some decrease after Nougat.  I did not get a huge improvement by factory resetting the phone and setting up as new (no auto restore of apps).  What seems to be helping is using the latest Greenify with Aggressive Doze and Wakeup Tracking and Cutoff enabled.

I am now at 5-6 hours SOT.

Most of the drain seems to be standby drain.  It gets worse if I have a bad cell signal.

One easy thing to try is to wipe the cache.  It may or may not help.  Also, disable any apps that you don't use.

A factory reset and manual setup may help, but it take a lot of time.

I had the same thing, it showed 35% drain from Voice mail. However there were no calls or miss calls during that time.

Re: Moto Z Force: Nougat upgrade and battery life

I have had this phone for a couple of weeks. I updated to Nougat as soon as I got it, and the battery life was great for about a week.

In the last few days, the battery life has been awful.

The only clue is shown here: Android system using all the battery.

I have deleted the cache. I hate having to reset the phone - it takes a long time to get everything set up again.

Ideas?
