Moto Z Force Quick Settings bug

2016-09-05, 15:24 PM

Found instructions for editing the Quick Settings ... wanted to remove a couple I never use so I went ahead and did so.  My Portrait Landscape Rotation switch is no longer in my Quick Settings.  I have reset the quick setting, tuned the Quick Settings off, restarted phone, nothing has worked so far.

So to start with just putting this out here as a bug.  Secondly, any thoughts?  Is there a way to reinstall/reset the operatiing system like what happens in an upgrade without having to reinstall apps?, or do I wait till the next upgrade to hopefully fix this?  I use the Widgetzoid app that can put the rotate switch in the notifications panel, so for me this is not worth a total reset of the phone ...

Thanks

Did you use System UI Tuner to make the changes?  If so, you can choose to reset the Quick Settings or choose the Quick Settings option and add the Tile back.

These instructions from Phandroid might help:

In order to activate the System UI Tuner:

  • Swipe down with two fingers from the status bar
  • Press and hold the Gear icon in the top right hand corner
  • After holding for about 10 seconds, let go
  • Once released, you’ll see a message which states: “Congrats! System UI Tuner has been added to Settings”

From here, users can change a few different options that aren’t found elsewhere such as customizing the Quick Settings panel, what icons are found in the Status bar, as well as showing the battery percentage level. Here’s what we need to do to customize what is found when accessing the Quick Settings panel:

  • Open the Settings app
  • Scroll down and select System UI Tuner
  • Tap Quick Settings
  • If rearranging a toggle, press and hold the icon then move or delete
  • If adding a toggle, tap the Add tile button and select the new tile

Did all of that, isn't working

Dragged, reset to default, removed switches to see if there was now a reduced number of

spots available...  Nothing workes

Using an that app that does it even better so no sweat on my end but wanted to report :-)

Thanks for the input though!
