Re: Moto Z Force scratched screens

Hi, I have had my phone for about a year now and it too has accumulated a number of scratches despite being treated carefully. Brittney, what is the fix and how do I apply?

Thanks

Re: Moto Z Force scratched screens

I purchased my Moto Z Force shortly after it's Tennessee and the same day I had scratches on the screen from swiping on the keyboard. I've had two replacements for other reasons and the same issue with the second, so with the third, I forget money out for a screen protector. It's ridiculous that the screen was scratching from my finger and from friction with cotton and jeans. Gimmie a break. I've had Motorola phones since before the smartphone era, and every smartphone since. I never liked Apple, Blackberry or Samsung. When this device payment is done I think I'm going to go to Google or Nexus. The quality of the Motorola has gone downhill. I have had no stop issues with my SD card as well after every update or switching phones. Not to mention they still didn't add a 3.5mm Jack to the new model. And haven't come out with a splitter for the USB C Port, so you can charge and listen, like the splitter your can find for the Apple lightning charger to charge and listen at the and time. Not to mention the adapter that it came with didn't last a month before starting to short.

At the present time, to the extent that it can be solved, it is solved.  The only way to replace the Shattershield lens is to send it in.

Nobody is happy about that.

I have a temporary solution for anyone who needs a replacement lens. Just post here and I'll follow up via email.

Thanks -- sorry for this delay!

Same issue.  I have had the phone for about two weeks and it has scratches on it.  Never had scratches on any of my phones before.  Sad that this phones screen is so bad.

Other phones use traditional Gorilla Glass, which is very hard and does not scratch easily.  But the hardness makes it brittle so it does crack & shatter when dropped.  The Z Force uses a fairly new Shattershield technology, Gen 2.  The Droid Turbo 2 was the first Shattershield phone in 2015, and the Z Force is the second.  The Shattershield system is a 5 layer design and the outer layer (lens) is soft and does srcatch easier than Gorilla Glass; but the screen will not crack or shatter when the phone is dropped.  Each type of screen has it's advantages & disadvantages.  But I put a glass screen protector on my Shattershield screen to protect from scratches and will take that any day over a Gorilla Glass screen that shatters when dropped.  Just my opinion, others may disagree and prefer a traditional Gorilla Glass screen which is more scrath resistant.

Re: Moto Z Force scratched screens

I sent my phone in to get repaired cause the "screen protector" came off and my screen got scratched and screen is now less responsive, on the phone they said they will put a new screen and I also confirmed with them not to put the screen protector back on and a week after sending it they call to confirm that the scratches will show if  they put a new "screen protector" on. This not a fix! Motorola knows how bad screens are and now wants to charge me 175$$$ to give me a "new" device. I am outraged as a customer it is hard to see my screen and now they just want to slab a plastic film on again and want to call it good again isn't a solution. Now I'm without a phone for a week and probably another week until I get my device back again. Really bummer.

I had the same issue with my Moto Z Force. Got it almost a year ago and within a week, there was a scratch on it. I don't have a whole lot of scratches though
