Re: Moto Z2 force speaker volume lowered

This is a common problem and it's not specific to this phone. The way I work I have had this problem many times. You need to clean your speaker. Just take a dry toothbrush and scrub the speaker. Dirt and other debris can fill the speaker grill and then the volume will be lower.

Re: Moto Z2 force speaker volume lowered

It's software, not hardware.

When I boot, the volume is nice and loud, but after a call, it's silent, until I reboot, or turn wifi off, and back on.

Re: Moto Z2 force speaker volume lowered

Hi rootinchase,

Thanks for posting. Your case is a bit different, I'd like to confirm when you say silent, are you referring to media and/or ringtone notification? Also, do you mean there's totally no sound or the volume just got lowered?

When you encountered this again, I recommend testing the speaker via Moto Help app > Diagnosis > Hardware Test > Speaker > Receiver

Let me know if there's a sound.

Best regards,

Re: Moto Z2 force speaker volume lowered

All audio is silent, ringtone, notification, media, and alarms.

This happens when I have Bluetooth enabled, and make or receive a call

Re: Moto Z2 force speaker volume lowered

Hi rootinchase,

Thanks for confirming. You mentioned WiFi on your initial post, does it happen on both WiFi and Bluetooth turned on? Are you possibly connected to Bluetooth device like a headset or speaker? Also, have you tried the hardware test I suggested? Let me know.

Hi HershyReis,

Thanks for posting on this thread. Can you share more details of what you're experiencing? Is this limited to calls, media, apps? Also, what have you tried and done so far? Let me know. Thanks.
