Moto mod alignment pin worn

2019-01-27, 0:46 AM

Ok so I absolutely love my Moto z force Droid. I've had it for over 2 years now and the Moto mod alignment pin dead center is super worn... I've used mods from day one and this was always my concern... Is there a place we can get a new one to replace it's gotten to the point where I can't even shift the mod to align properly....

Welcome to the forum.  I was always a little concerned about that also.  After a year & a half with my Z Force the alignment hole was a little worn, but not too bad.  iFixit sells official Moto Z parts like screens, batteries, rear cameras; but I have never seen any other parts for sale.  The best option might be to contact Moto Customer Support and discuss repair costs.  They should be able to give you an estimate on repair cost, or replacement (refurbished) phone options.  Then weigh that cost agaisnt a new phone & see which option works best for you.

I just fixed the alignment pin on my phone. So far it is holding up very well. Are you still looking for a fix?

Hi PowerArg,

Thanks for posting. Are the mods not connecting properly with the phone? If it's due to loosed/missing/broken pins, it is recommended to submit it for repair.

Hi PowerArg,

Unfortunately, Motorola phones are only in warranty in the country/region in which they are intended for sale. We never recommend buying a phone in one region for ongoing use in another for this reason.

Hi Madman123,

Thanks for posting on the thread. Is there already a scratches, missing or damage with the pins/connectors?
