Re: No Audio Through Incipio Car Dock

Hi jesta192,

Is it only happening when you're using incipio car dock? Can you please check if your apps are updated on Playstore? Thanks.

Best regards,

Rich,

Thanks for responding! This only happens when I'm using the dock. I believe if I pull my phone from the dock and re-connect it, it will work again without waiting through the ten second period.

The dock firmware is up-to-date. I update all my apps generally nightly, so I have the latest of everything installed.

Hi jesta192,

Can you please test this on safemode?

To Enable Safe Mode

1. Press and hold the Power button until Power off comes up on the screen.

2. Touch and HOLD Power off on the screen until reboot to safe mode appears.

3. Touch OK when Reboot to safe mode appears

4. Phone will reboot and Safe Mode will appear in bottom left corner

5. If the issue does not remain in safe mode, this indicates a third party application installed from the Play Store is causing the problem.

6. Restart the device to get out of safe mode and uninstall any recently installed applications.

*** Begin by looking for specific application types such as launchers, task killers or anti-virus apps.

Rich,

Unfortunately, in Safe Mode I can't use downloaded apps so I couldn't replicate the circumstances with my podcast app, Podcast Addict. So I tried Google Play Music and the problem was a little different. I don't have skip buttons in GPM, but seeking with the seekbar *does* cause the music to cut out. I noticed, however, that pausing then playing immediately brings the music back (I don't need to pause, wait ten seconds or more, then play to hear the music again).

Back in normal boot, I saw Podcast Addict has a "Resume Playback workaround" meant for devices with MediaTek processors. Enableing this option causes the seeking/sound problem to act like Google Play Music did (pausing and playing immediately brings the audio back). This is a lot easier to deal with, but still a hassle any time you seek.

I would love to provide more information if you need it. I can tell this is headed toward a factory reset... I'm reluctant but not opposed to it, however I'm involved in a situation where I've been instructed to not reset the device until given the go ahead by the program administrator so until further word I am not willing to reset.

Also, I'm out of town but realized that I can also test this with my wife's phone (same model) once I return. I'll keep you updated.

Hi jesta192,

Thanks for those information, that really helps us replicating your concern. Could you please update your profile with current phone, carrier and serial number -- this will help me investigate. Please make sure that the options under Settings > Motorola Privacy are on as well, and let me know (just reply here) if it's okay for me to look at your apps to see if they are a source of problems.

Need help updating your profile? See here

Also, kindly provide the UID of your Moto Mod. You will see the UID via Settings > Moto Mod when the Mod is attached to the phone. Put in your profile here so we can check it. Thanks!

Rich,

I'm confused, my device information is up-to-date in my profile (my IMEI is entered, does that need to be serial number instead?)

Rich,

I purchased two of the docks on the same order from Verizon directly (as part of their "Buy a Mod get a projector Mod for free" promotion). My wife has the other one but doesn't use it much.

I don't quite understand what you are asking in regards to the firmware update; my phone shows there are no "software updates" available for the dock.
