I received the security update as well. Nice to know that we are secure.

Build number for the "fix" update is NPL25.86-17-3.... That's not what was just installed. So this should hopefully be pushed out soon following the security update we are currently receiving.

Just ready for this ridiculous issue to be put behind us.

Just installed the update... It was only 68meg and Verizon has changed the status of this update to strictly being a security update.... No mention of "correcting known issues" as it read earlier.

So now we wait for this reported 540meg update that was reported as on the way in an earlier post. Per an article linked to in the post.

I'm really keeping my cool considering its been 4 months now.

Best case scenario is that the security updates had to be pushed prior to the "repair of known issues" update....

Worst case... We're just forever effed!!!

I don't have a clue anymore, this whole issue makes my head hurt.

So now that it is being reported in an article that a fix for notifications is being rolled out, no more smoke mods! What the hell is the case here!??? What is the timing and if you don't know, push it back to the "team" for an answer!!!

Sincerely ;

A highly disappointed customer!!!

that "540MB" update was never listed for a Moto Z Droid.

It is in the article posted in a previous comment.

Never mentions the Droid models.

This article is saying that the update is already out there to download?

Edit:

http://www.android.gs/download-the-moto-z-new-npl25-86-17-3-nougat-update-installation-guide-included/

This one has some sort of step by step process to manually update it, apparently. Not sure if I want to try this or not.

I'm reading that as the Moto Z's Nougat update was NPL25.86-15. The next update is NPL25.86-17-3 (which fixes the low notification issue) and can only be taken if you're on NPL25.86-15.

Looks like someone also downloaded the OTA and uploaded it to downloadmirror (Blur_Version.25.11.14.griffin.retail.en.US.zip). That's not an official download though.

Also - the Moto Z Droid/Moto Z Force Droid got Nougat with NCL25.86-11. The build that brings the December 1, 2016 security patch (the 12/29 OTA) is NCL.25.86-11-4.

After reading here I checked for update and it was available and took about 10 minutes. Someone posted it didn't fix anything and can't imagine they would release this if it didn't fix the issues and will test it now.

I think someone mistakenly thought that this update was to fix the issue, looks like its just a security update or something like that, unless you can confirm that it IS supposed to be the fix? I hope it isn't, as it hasn't worked if it is!

The notes at Verizon and on the update itself don't mention a low notification fix at all. I wouldn't expect it to be a part of this build.

Re: Quiet notifications moto z

I just install NCLS25.86.11.4 and everything went pretty smooth , actually took less then the expected 10min. I have made numerous phone calls to people that previously sounded like cramp w/ alot of staticy hiss to the phone call & now they sound normal again. So apparently Verizon has included some other small fixes with this update/security patch.
