But, we can see where Lenovo is headed.

Am not seeing it heading anywhere as of now .
Been a long time since this issue.
Moto agents on the live chats say they haven't got this complain .
And are hearing for the first time.
Well , I don't know who's monitoring the forums then.

Either Lenovo has told it's customer service to play dumb about the issue, or there exists the greatest lack of communication between management and employees than ever existed in a corporation.

It's simple the right hand doesn't know or care what the left hand is doing.

I would rather be patient and let Lenovo take time and do it right to make the patch to resolve it.

I have no doubt it's complex as it's afflicting the bluetooth and sound notifications.

What we DON'T WANT is a cure that gives the phone other ailments.

And Verizon will also have to approve the patch before an OTA is released anyway.

Enjoy the nice features this phone has to offer and just be patient. With all the hate and discontent Samsung has created with their Note 7 problems and return policies they're so muddled up in confusion they still haven't sent out fixes for their Samsung Galaxy S7 yet. As these phones get more complicated they're going to have problems which will take time to resolve them.

Take the time to do it right? Has anybody (Motorola) heard of, "do it right the FIRST time?"

Well in my opinion its not Motorola cause I've never had this kind of problem when it was actually Motorola or even when Google took over I've had most of the droid phones since droid 1. So I think it is lenovo but they are new to the game. I'm being patient and give them some time to get there $hit together. Plus the phone isn't all that bad other then a few minor issues. But they did ignore us for quiet some time. So I'm not to sure. But I am do for an upgrade in may so hopefully they impress me by then or ima get me the pixel. ?

I just installed a new software update that was literally just released.  Thought it might solve the quiet notification issue; no such luck.  Or, perhaps they are still "working" on the fix for this issue.   Notification volume was fine until the the previous update,  before this last one that I just installed.   I have been loyal to the Motorola brand for about 20 years, now starting to reconsider my brand loyalty.

Well this i can't explain.  I ran the latest security update and immediately following the update, my notifications were quite as expected.  No change, no luck. . .oh well.  It's not really a big deal to me to be honsest, as i usually have my phone on vibrate, my notifications come through my pebble just fine (for now, at least, seeing pebble is no longer).

HOWEVER.   A few days later (maybe a reboot or 2, a few volume adjustmensts) and my notifications/ringtone are immediately loud now.   No way to explain it.

Thanks to this thread and those who have continued to post to it, I was able to see that Lenovo hasn't been too eager to fix this issue.   I was able to return my new Moto Z droid to Verizon within the 7 day return window for a full refund after I experienced the issue.  I am still not sure based on other forums if this problem is completely due to Lenovo/Moto or if it was caused when I updated to Android Nougat, but in any case it is surprising how they can't address a critical flaw faster.
