I've almost made up my mind and thankfully I have until the 14th to exchange this phone and get rid of this paper weight at Verizon. There are other issues. Massive static on phone calls. Voice cut out and other stuff which I can not accept.

Return it!!! Seriously, just return it. All this nonsense is Lenovo's fault and it's not going to get better anytime soon. Just Google "Lenovo acquisition of Motorola." In short, they cut all the jobs inherited from Motorola and they have even said themselves that the acquisition has gone awfully. They'll do everything they can to keep Verizon happy since they can't risk Verizon not pushing future releases, but we'll be hung out to dry. I assume Verizon pays a lump sum for a certain amount of phones. So, they'll continue to sell out the Z line. If Lenovo doesn't keep them happy they may decide against doing that when the next flagship from Lenovo comes out.

Return it and get a phone from a stable company.

I installed OTA update NPL25.86-17-3 and now notifications are way too loud when compared to ringtone volume. And there is no separate adjustment. This is more of an Android thing than it is a Lenovo thing. Look at a phone either running Android 4, or 5, and you'll see you can adjust them separately. With 6, and 7 you cannot, and is incredibly stupid. One of the things I hate going from the Droid Mini to the Droid Moto Z Play.

I'd rather not blow out my speaker with my notification sound, and not have to suffer ringtone volume... It's even more customization options they're removing while adding more and gloating how Android is becoming so customizable... They can kiss my ass...

Yes, I know that Google is the one to blame, but still some manufactures have added extra mixer feature to Android 6 and 7 devices. Rooting the device would allow to change this, but I don't want to do that yet, maybe when the device is old enough (I have unlocked international Z). So, I used an audio editor to lower notification tone (the ones that I use) volumes by -6dB, saved them to correct directories and started using them instead of the default ones. Now levels vs. ringtone volume are fine again.

I've heard rumors that Lenovo/Motorola is coming out with a Turbo 3.  I know it's wishful thinking, but maybe in the spirit of customer service/satisfaction, Lenovo/Motorola will replace our Moto Z's with the Turbo 3 at their expense,  if it is in fact true that they are coming out with the new phone.  This will go a long way to repairing the "good will" between them and their customer base.  I'm sure many of us are re-evaluating our choice to go with Lenovo/Motorola.

Unless the T3 would be mod ready, I would have to pass. With 3 mods already, I can't give up my Z Force.
