Ben, not sure of which programs you use but in some cases, such as Verizon's texting app, in the drop down menu under Customize, there is a check box to prevent that notification while on a call.

Notifications still are inoperative on Yahoo Mail App. Any thoughts?

Dump the Yahoo app and sink your Yahoo mail to a Gmail account and do all of your email through the Gmail app. The Captain's Log notification sounds good

Thanks for the suggestion. Didn't know that was possible. Works like a charm.

The Yahoo app notification sounds are being treated like ringtones with the escalation sounds. Syncing Yahoo Mail through the Gmail app is a cure.

I also just applied the update, and my phone works perfectly now! I have been with Motorola phones from the very first Smart Phone and love them. They almost lost my following over this issue.

Now, I can enjoy my Moto Z Force and learn all the wonderful things it will do!

I have the Force and Play, both on Verizon. Force has received the update, Play has not as of 01/26/17.

Re: Quiet notifications moto z

I downloaded a patch yesterday, 1/25/17 to my Moto Z Force that purported to be a fix for the quiet notifications I have experienced since I had the phone. Verizon Wireless was useless and would not even acknowledge the issue. So now my notification sounds are louder, however, I wish I had not downloaded this fix. The phone is very slow and jaggy, and something is fiercely eating up my battery much more quickly. The cure is worse than the disease.

Had2,

Tried doing a hard reset on your phone and then charging. Hold the power button in for approximately 10 seconds...the phone will power down and then power right back up again. After the phone is back on plug it into the charger & charge it to 100% And then leave it on the charger for another 10 minutes. This will reset your battery and might possibly help with the battery drain issue. Hope it works for you.

P.S.- this is Not a factory reset & will Not wipe any data off of your phone.

The Droid Z Play still hasn't gotten Android 7 yet... Also, from what I read and heard this update was tied to that OS version. It's dumb as hell since all the Moto Z family devices were being soaked tested at the same time for Android 7... Sony will have the 7.1.1 Android update before us Z Play users will ever get this update...

Edit: Nevermind. The update is hitting the Play the 27th as it says on the Verizon website. Here's a link to it.
