I had that same problem, I even had my phone replaced and still no joy. Your sounds quit working altogether right? They will work when you reboot your phone but eventually, and for no reason, just randomly, they quit?

Yes, except even if I don't reboot they will randomly work.

Odd! I've used the phone exclusively for my alarm, and never had an issue. Have any of you submitted a bug report? Quite possible this is due to a conflicting app, or other issue.

This is strange since the update to correct this issues resolved my problem. I haven't had any sound issues since. It may be an app that is causing this problem. A run in safe mode will help determine if it is an app.

I had to turn off battery optimization on anything that has notification sounds, it has worked ever since.

I'm going to try that right now! Bless you and thank you. I'll write back once I have tried it out.

I had this issue as well. With no solution or fix to this or my other problems with my moto z force, I switched to a new Nexus 6P and have said goodbye to all those problems.

Here's the option in the settings on my 6P (Android 7.1) that eradicates this issue and works perfectly.

Why couldn't this have been implemented into the Z Force too?

That's great! It must have happened after I switched to another brand of phone that already had this option built in. :)

Good job on Motorola for adding in this simple solution after 5 months of people begging for a fix.
