Re: Quiet notifications moto z

Turning off battery optimization worked like a charm. Until this morning when it happened again.

The only truly reliable solution is to use a tone with vibrate --assuming you can hear that....

Rhonda, sorry to disappoint.

It turns out that my sound setting *within* the clock app was turned to zero volume. (Why have an alarm and no noise? Really?!). In any case, the earlier solution of turning off battery optimization for the clock app still stands. (Good news, eh Rhonda?)

That is great news, I was wondering what happened cause mine is still working. I'm so glad to hear that.

Is the proposed fix released yet? My phone has the latest software, but still shows the problem.

I'm currently thinking about returning it, since a phone that does not sound notifications properly is pretty much useless.

Too bad, since it's such a nice phone besides this problem...

I've heard nothing of an official solution actually being proposed.

However, I urge you to turn off battery optimization specifically for your alarm app and see if the problem recurs.

Re: Quiet notifications moto g5

2017-07-29, 15:35 PM

I have a new G5 (July 2017) and having problems with sound notification when emails come through.  Also if there is sound it is very low.   Have read forums of problems in 2016 which would appear to be sorted now - but not for me and my new moto g5.

Any help appreciated please.

Are they ever going to do anything about escalating ringtone? Like doing away with it or giving us the option to disable it on the Moto Z Force Droid? If not &if it will be a feature of future Motorola phones, sorry to say but this one will bey last. I can't stand this feature. Too many missed calls because people hang up before it starts ringing for me. Five rings before sound is a bit too much.

If you want to use your phone as an actual phone for phone calls and want to hear when it rings find a new phone with an unmodified OS. Big brother Lenovo/Motorola is trying to protect your ears so they will not be sued for hearing loss because we are too stupid to know to lower the volume.
