Screen mirroring

Still no screen mirroring on a flagship phone??? This is beyond ridiculous. And no, Chromecast or Allcast is not a sufficient answer. Smh

Just FYI, it has nothing to do with flagship or not.  It's stock Android.  Stock Android doesn't have mirroring, just like Pixel phones, and Moto uses stock Android.

Because Samsung and LG, and HTC, do not use stock Android.  They use their own heavily skinned version of Android.  Moto uses stock Android, like Pixel phones.  Most Moto owners like that and prefer stock Android.  For me personally, I can't stand Samsung's OS and will always buy a stock Android phone.

Yes, my LG and Samsung phones have it but my Motorola doesn't. Been this way for years. I don't use Miracast at all. I use chromecast all the time. I don't have many apps that do not use chomecast. But if you want the other you will need to buy a phone with their own skin over Android's.

No excuse. It's a known fact. Just read the specifications.. Not many people use it anymore. All my new TV's have Chromecast built into them. Even my Receiver has it. If you want the other then LG, Samsung and others have it. But who knows how much longer they will too. Just like the loss of the audio jack. My LG has it but not my Motorola phone. Times change and so does technology.

Just purchased a motoz3play and  it wont cast to my Samsung Tv's, although my old motox 2 gen did  fine. Tech support soulution is to buy Chromcast.

Hi prpierce,

Thanks for posting on this thread. That is correct the only way you can cast the phone is through Chromecast.

Best regards,

WiFi direct u can cast with Moto z3 play

To any smart TV! Roku TV's WiFi direct is automatically enabled. Not sure about lg and Samsung etc.

Go to settings, network settings, enable WiFi direct choose TV you want to connect too it will then invite and then connect should automatically switch the TV to the cast screen etc.

May take a few times of trying but it will work.
