Hi gutozanin,

We do not have any updates about 7.1  as 7.0 is still haven't released to all of our eligible devices. Moto Z Play's launcher will stick to its default launcher Google Now launcher once the phone has been updated to latest version. So far, Moto Z Play Droid is the one that has the same launcher as G5 devices.

The launcher on the G5 does look nice with the Pixel-like app dock and app drawer. Fortunately you can get a third party launcher to replicate that look if you want.

I also noticed from reviews on YouTube that the G5 has a cool design for Moto Display: the battery percentage indicator is shown in a circle around the clock. I don't think you can get an third party app to replicate this feature so am hoping we get that in a future update. :)

Good that Lenovo has it on the G5 (eventhough the functionality has been reduced to bare minimum)It used to be known as Circles Widget (and built into the Motorola Launcher / Motoblur) and was very useful with a variety of functions (and the cool part was you could flip the circles). Later it was called Command Centre and a Droid exclusive but someone has managed to extract the apk, google for "Command Centre apk" and you can install it on your phone.

Would be cool if they could add:

-fingerprint gestures like with the new G5 fingerprint. I think its easy while software is available on the new G5.

-add a turn off Display notifications by set time to the moto App like on the x play.

-update the Motorola camera

to a future z play update

Droid Z Play got Android 7.0.1 on, 03/07/2017.

I doubt 7.1 is in the back if their minds right now. There still needs to be some bug fixes for the devices. Not to mention there are a handful of apps that aren't working in 7.1 like Mario Run for example. Still weird how 7 is so bad for non Verizon users right now. I haven't had any of the major issue people are reporting.

I also wonder if we'll ever get the fingerprint gestures to replace the virtual navbar. That looks so cool.

well, the G5 is a new device with new features, usually new features doesn't come to older devices, adding to that, the fingerprint sensor is small and the phone itself may not have other hardware required, but who know, Motorola might surprise us (G4 plus owner)
