I used my plus for several months, with only the occasional disconnect issue. This OS update came out, and I cannot connect at all. This issue has been known for months. Is the problem even identified? It feels like this issue is getting no attention and is making me feel like I need to go back to Samsung and tell everyone to stay away from Lenovo due to poor quality, lack of customer support, and disregard for issues caused by your company.

I'd be interested in knowning which update you are referring to. I bought one yesterday, attempted several methods and attempts to connect but was unable to. Currently I am version 7.1.1 with a security patch for Sept. 1.

Update on the Z2 Play - I finally got the September 1 security patch and I can occasionally connect the Go Plus, but it's still unreliable and involves a lot of reboots and jamming the button.

even on custom rom that's retty much normal for me. according to the crew I play with, its supposed to disconnect after a while as the app doesn't run in the background forever. as far as I can tell, its averages about an hour. I have to go back in, delete the go from the app and cycle bluetooth before it will connect  again.

That's still a massive step backward from having it operate like it's actually supposed to.  When I first got my Z Play and bought the PoGo+, it connected perfectly, via the Bluetooth settings pairing.  Now it's like pulling teeth to get it to even recognize the thing in the only app it's used for?  Unacceptable.

Yup, the disconnect after an hour definitely seems to be built in to the game. But on my old phone (Moto X 2nd gen), I could just touch the Go Plus icon on the map again and reconnect over half of the time without having to do the disconnect-reconnect dance.

 

On the Z2 Play, if I try to eject it from the app, cycle Bluetooth, even close the app and reopen, I get the infamous "incorrect PIN or Passkey" until I restart the phone.

Ok so let's narrow the scope of this a bit.

 

Reset the Go Plus.

Uninstall the app.

Now tap the button on the plus. Hopefully it's in pairing mode and blinks blue. (this doesn't always happen.)

Select it to pair it.

 

Does this work?

 

If yes, then reinstall app and forget the pairing in Bluetooth settings..

 

Now, run through first boot of Go, get everything up and running.

 

Are you able to pair through the app?

 

Of not, try pairing via settings and then connect via the app.

 

I was able to pair the Plus via BT settings. It thinks it's connected so it will vibrate if you press the button. You may have to wake it up mid pair to get that process to complete as noted previously.

 

Once I opened the app, it stopped vibrating until I added it in the app as normal.

 I have a brand new Moto Z2 play and a brand new Pokemon go plus. The go plus works correctly the first time that I connect it. But if it disconnect, I'm not able to reconnect again. I have to reboot the device to make it connecting again.

 

I've searched on the internet and I've found that is a Motorola issue. I'm very disappointed with Motorola. I've bought this phone recently and I've only found a lot of problems.

Pokemon go plus still not working.

 I have a brand new Moto Z2 play and a brand new Pokemon go plus. The go plus works correctly the first time that I connect it. But if it disconnect, I'm not able to reconnect again. I have to reboot the device to make it connecting again.

The funny thing is that I tried the pokemon go plus on a 2 euros phone (not joking, I really paid it 2 euros through a promotion) running android lollipop, and it is working fine.

I just downloaded the new system update this morning. For the first time in months, I have been able to connect the plus to my phone. Once I leave, I will test how well it is working.
