Here's an update pic on my phone. It's less than a year old. Unfortunately Motorola doesn't want to fix it.

That Verizon rep is dumber than dirt... There is no way for you to possibly, and purposely "over charge" your device... The next time you go in, or contact them tell them that this is a common issue with these devices, and even show them this thread. I had to do that with my old Droid Mini with the old vibration mortor dying on them.

I took mine in like a day after my post told them that it was effecting these devices fairly commonly, and even effecting others who haven't even had the device for 8 months. They evaluated it on the spot since they had to for proper replacement, and came to the conclusion that it was indeed from battery swelling.

Regarding the Z2's I've seen, and heard their share of horrid issues as well. Like the shatter shield peeling off by itself for no reason, and Lenovo/Moto trying to charge customers for a common problem to fix it, after acknowledging it's an issue/their fault. Not to mention the screens are plastic, and VERY prone to gouges and scratches. So, if you do get a Z2 Force, make sure to buy (good) tempered glass screen protectors (I've seen sets of them for like $8 on Amazon) made for it, and if the Shatter Shield starts to peel off, it will take the screen protector with it. I also have no clue if the Z3 Play is having any issues either. If it comes down to it, drop the Z line all together, and maybe wait for the upcoming Motorola One, for power, or just get a decent Samsung if you want power, and spend the same amount, or a bit more then the apprent "flagship" devices that Lenovo/Moto sells, that are underpowered.

This just happened to me. I am sending it in. The chat guy keeps suggesting I dropped it, but this is my lifeline to work. I updated my OS, plugged it in and the next day noticed the phone was running hotter than usual. Then it started to separate.

I have to travel. Glad I found this post because when I suggested this is not something new, they said they never heard of this issue (2X). Sending it in for hopefully a repair.

My MotoZ play is having the same separating screen from case issue as desribed in the other post. It is mostly separating from the left side. I have had the phone for about 16 month and is now out of waranty. It has not been dropped.  I have notice a heating up issue than it shuts down and I have to restart it.

Hi Everyone,

You need to go to the website for repair. For India, here's the link. For US, the link is provided in my previous reply.
