Adaptive Brightness?

If I understand correctly adaptive brightness uses a light sensor to raise or lower the screen brightness depending on the current light situation. On my old S4 if I activated this I had no choice of the level of brightness. But with the Moto I can turn on Adaptive Brightness and also use the slider to get a level of brightness I want. How can I have adaptive brightness on and still have control of the brightness level?

Never mind found the answer to my own question. Can't seem to delete this post.
