I've since tried a cache clear in Settings>Storage and also messed about with power saving modes, still no luck so they are now taking it back to the repair centre for a second time. This time I will not have to pay postage. I'm hoping for a replacement phone at this point.

Will keep you posted.

Re: Bluetooth keeps disconnecting.

I am on my second Motorola Z Force and the bluetooth is still disabling itself randomly. Two resets, bluetooth scanning is off, Android version 7 is installed and up todate.  The issue occurs on both my Legend earpiece as well as my Ford Sync system.  I have updated and reloaded SYNC to take issues there off of the plate.

I have a Droid Turbo 2 with the same Android version 7 and am having no issues at all.

I have been using Motorola phones on all 5 of my lines for years now but now that Lenovo took over there are issues and you all don't seem interested in fixing the problem.  Lenovo needs to do an update and get this fixed.  I am considering paying the upgrade charge to move to Samsung 8.

Please do BOTH of these items, one right after the other.

1) Go to Settings > Location  > (the three dots in the upper right) > Scanning > disable Bluetooth scanning (it's a toggle setting, in this instance you want it disabled)

2) Then go to Settings > Apps > (the three dots in the upper right) > Show System > Bluetooth Share > Storage > Clear Data.

This will turn off Bluetooth, so you will have to turn it on again. It should not clear pre established pairs however.

If you run into trouble again, doing the second step (clearing Bluetooth storage under Apps) is much less painful than a factory reset. After clearing it, it will turn off Bluetooth, so you will have to turn Bluetooth on again.

Motorola sure are taking their time arranging a courier. Stating they'll get back to me soon.

Meantime the phone's WiFi has now ceased to function too. Already tried all the solutions so I'm not asking for help. I think this phone's a lemon. Hope it's just mine and not the batch and the replacement, if I get one.

More soon..

Same problems with my phone since I updated to Nougat. I also tried everything... Clearing cache, disabling search mode, even factory reset (several times).

But the problem stays... No Bluetooth connection possible. The Moto Z can't find any other Bluetooth equipment and also cannot be found. Totally dead.

WiFi and carrier connection (voice & data) works without problems.

There are more and more foreign forums that discuss about that issue too. No solution yet.

Are there attempts from Motorola/Lenovo to solve that issue?

This next advice is assuming there is not actually a physical issue with your phone's bluetooth radio...that this is software related...

Delete any "trusts" under security you have established with Bluetooth devices.

I would delete ALL pairings you currently have. Trigger the "forget" for each and every one.

Reboot the phone

Make sure (per previous posts, and what you have already stated) that Bluetooth location services are disabled

Proceed to clear the storage for Bluetooth, per previous posts. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT STEP!

Reboot the phone again

Start a pairing operation with one of your selected devices. See if it is successful...(and tell us after following ALL of the above steps if it is...)

Reestablish a logon trust relationship if you wish for the selected device under security while paired.

Hi rbkirk.

I have no 'trusts' with any devices but thankyou for the info. Haven't heard this one before. Maybe it'll help someone.

I rang Motorola UK again today, still waiting for them to email me postage labels etc.

Cheers.
