Thanks for posting. This is odd. Can you please check if the Wifi Scanning is off? Just go to Settings > Security and Location > Location > Scanning > Enable Wifi Scanning). Let me know if that helps.

Thanks for trying. Let's try resetting the network settings (Settings > System > Reset > Reset Network Settings). Please note that this would delete all Bluetooth and Wifi devices previously connected and paired with your phone, so you will need to manually reconnect to them, Also, I would recommend try connecting to other Wifi hotspot, and check if it will do the same. Let me know.

I wonder if it's somehow affected by third-party apps. Let's try booting the phone into safe mode so we can isolate them.
To Enable Safe Mode
1. Press and hold the Power button until Power off comes up on the screen.
2. Touch and HOLD Power off on the screen until reboot to safe mode appears.
Let me know.

Hi Richard, thank you for helping me.
Unfortunately it did not change anything. I typed in the passwords in safe mode. Rebooted again in safe mode. Again I typed them in and performed a restart. The situation is unchanged. Still no connection without manual interaction.

I'm experiencing the same issue. But in my case not only device restart leads to forgetting all saved wi fi networks except one, but also enabling wi fi hotspot. The only network which remains is the first one I've connected by the phone after purchasing. And even if I remove this network from saved, it appears again after restart/hotspot enabling
