I have the Hassleblad True Zoom mod attached to a Lenovo Moto Z phone with Android 8.0.0 and I have been getting constant camera errors. The error says to restart the camera but this makes no difference. Having read the user forums a number of solutions are offered but the one that seems to work with me is to switch off the flash. Is there a plan to resolve this issue so I can switch my flash back on?

Thanks for letting us know about this. Are you only having this error whenever you use the Mod? How about using the default camera of the phone, does it work properly? Please check for MotoMod update, attach the mod to your phone and go to Settings > Moto Mod > System Update. Let me know how it goes. Thanks.

Yes I only get the error when using the mod, the phone camera is fine. I have gone into 'Moto Mod/About this moto mod/Software update' and it says software is up to date. Just checked that as soon as I switch on the flash its says 'Camera error, please restart camera'.

Let's test this on safemode. To Enable Safe Mode:
1. Press and hold the Power button until Power off comes up on the screen.
2. Touch and HOLD Power off on the screen until reboot to safe mode appears.
3. Touch OK when Reboot to safe mode appears
4. Phone will reboot and Safe Mode will appear in bottom left corner
5. If the issue does not remain in safe mode, this indicates a third party application installed from the Play Store is causing the problem.
6. Restart the device to get out of safe mode and uninstall any recently installed applications.
*** Begin by looking for specific application types such as launchers, task killers or anti-virus apps.

I tried safe mode and the mod worked OK. After rebooting I removed my virus checker but it still crashed and I had no third party app launchers or task killers so I reset to factory settings and the mod worked. I will check the mod as I add apps and see if I can identify the culprit.
Thanks for the assistance.

Thanks for your response. It looks like it was an app/software issue. I'm glad it's working back normal now. Just let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks.

So this didn't help me. I tried safemode and the camera doesn't startup. I don't get any errors.
What I experience:
No error messages. No pop-ups.
First camera I bought in Jun 2017 failed when I went to use it in September. Second one I bought just last week is "certified refurbished"--neither of works on my wife's Moto Z or my Moto Z2... both act exactly the same.
Please advise. I contacted Hasselblad, and they said to contact Motorola.

Thank you for posting. Let's try resetting your Hasselblad, kindly attach it with your phone, go to Settings > Moto Mod > Reset. Let me know. Thanks.
