Re: MOTO Z EXTREME BATTERY DRAIN

The delema for me is that I often go to marginal cell areas and the Motorola has the best antennas and gets the best reception in those areas. My wife's older Samsung and sisters i-phone do terrible by contrast. And chance Samsung has made improvements?

The Samsung accesses all of the bands.  I bought the unlocked version so it works on all of the cell carriers.  I don't know if Lenovo/ Moto allows posting of links - but here is a link that lists all of the bands available to the Galaxy s9 and 9+....

Re: Moto Z Extreme battery drain after Oreo update

2018-06-22, 22:22 PM

Funny how I had NO problems with this phone prior to the update....battery life was great....phone did not run hot...installed the update and what do you know....the phone runs hot, battery drains way too fast.

Come on Agent Rich....Really?  Updates don't cause these issues?  Look at Apple and what they just went through....Updates DO cause these issues.

If this isn't fixed soon, I am done with Motorola.

Come on...you guys are better than this....

FIX IT!!!!!

Just updated my Moto z this morning.  Phone battery is now dying while being plugged into turbo charger!

Re: MOTO Z EXTREME BATTERY DRAIN

I think I found the source of the problem on the battery drain issue with the Oreo update.  The new update includes green dot notifications for each icon on the home screen.  After removing all of the icons from every screen on the main screens of the phone, the battery life dramatically improved.  I did not complete the Full Data Reset, and cleared out the cache on the applications.

It would appear the notifications for all of the icons is draining the battery.

But wait.....Agent Rich says an update can't cause these problems.....that just happened to occur right after updating .....and all of us at the same time....must be a coincidence .......

Come on Agent Rich....it's time to pass this thread on to whomever is in charge and tell them to get to work and fix this....really?     We can't have icons on the home screen because it will cause the battery to drain?

Why have a smart phone?

This is Crap!!  I expect and demand more from Motorola and Lenovo....

I think it's time to contact my attorney and see what he thinks of this.....sounds alot like the Apple scandel all over again.....

Re: MOTO Z EXTREME BATTERY DRAIN

Yesterday, I literally watched my son's phone shut off declaring a dead battery with a battery indication of 84%. This started on our phones about 6-8 weeks and the update that they got last week did not fix it. This needs to be corrected. The day before, I watched that same phone die within less than 10 minutes of being disconnected from the charger once it had reached a 100% charge. This is ridiculous and Motorola needs to fix this problem immediately. I have a Lenovo tablet that is nearly 7 years old holds a charge for days, so I do not understand how a phone that is only 18 months old cannot seem to keep power when it actually has a smaller screen to light up.

Verizon told me 6/25 to hang on. They will be coming out with a software fix in a couple weeks. And in the mean time don't update to Oreo 8. . . . We'll see.
