I unplugged the phone....7 min.....acco accorto this, I would have less than 45min on a charge! But, it turns off usually near 50-60%......just disgusted! And frustrated!

Looking into the Pixel 2 for the next one.  After being a loyal Motorola customer since the flip RAZR....I'm done!

I am in the same boat as you...two phones, same problems.  Tried all the resets and "tricks".  I'm done jumping through hoops that don't work.

Motorola/Lenovo.....please, just own the problem!! Do the right thing and fix or replace the phones .  I believe, asking everyone to do the "tips and tricks" is a stall tactic and insulting to those of us who have researched and done these to no avail.

For you Moto Z Droid users, you can currently get a Pixel 2 XL for $350 with Verizon at BB. I got one a while ago and have been much happier. Overall higher quality in all aspects.

I'm very interested in your solution. Unfortunitly, I'm not a Verizon customer and would be interested if this tool some was able to work for non-Verizon customers. If not, does anyone know whether sideloading the ROM would do the same trick? If the trick is to clean up some files from the upgrade then hopefully there is another way to accomplish the same thing.

I don't think its the battery. I think it's the OTA upgrade software.

I have upgraded manually, even installed a custom ROM, and the battery drain remains the same: nowadays I can't even get more than half an hour of battery life after disconnecting the phone from the charger.

It could very well be that crappy batteries were sourced for this phone or they were under engineered for this phone. While I'm not happy with their lack of performance I am glad they're not igniting like the Samsung phones did. I'm wondering if that's what it will take for Lenovo to own their problem .

the problem with this non-answer solution is that it doesn't tell us why it is happening. Was it a software problem? Faulty battery batch? Was the Turbocharger frying the batteries? Motorola should be trying to figure it out.

If this happened to another company, there would have been much more buzz around it (ahem)

I've sent my phone under warranty repair. You've dissapointed a lot of customers, Moto. And no, I will not be looking at the Moto Z3, or any other Moto phone.
