Just adding my story to the mix. I have the same problem as all of you. My battery on my original Moto Z Droid dies in about 45-60mins with normal internet browsing. Way faster if I'm watching videos. It also dies at random battery percentages, usually above 50%. This problem started after the 7.1.1 update, was subtle at first, but recently has gotten extreme. I basically have a landline now.

When it dies, it won't turn on unless it is plugged in. Sometimes it turns on to its predeath percentage, sometimes higher, mostly to <20%. The newest issue I have is that it is now saying it will charge in 18hrs from 72%. When I went to bed 6 hours ago, it was at 68% and said it would be fully charged in 2hrs. I haven't tried resetting it since this issue, but I will report back if doing so changes anything.

I'm glad to see that nothing I can do will fix the problem. I already suspected this since I've tried everything short of a factory reset. I've almost tried it on several occasions, but I was hesitant because I didn't know if it would work and having to restart everything would not have been worth the hassle.

I will say that since this new issue of "18 hours to full charge" from 72%, the battery settings have started showing other app use. Before, it was just reporting 1-2% for the screen, Android system, and phone idle.

I'm going to try a restart now to see if the battery will "charge" faster.

You can also see in the screenshot a time where I had sustained 100% battery. During this time, my phone was unplugged but still said it was charging. I desperately needed my phone and was away from a turbo charger, so I didn't do anything to change that until I was safe to do so. Restarting it fixed that, but now it won't charge at all.

Can we maybe submit this to a news Network to spread the works? For now use hashtag #Motozbatteyissue

So i've had the same issues as you are all stating (Bluetooth button greyed out and not working, battery lasting only a few hours and suddenly jumping from 30% to 0%)..following the 7.1.1 update - phone was great before that

After all the troubleshooting and even a hard reset I was advised to send the phone to repair centre in Norwich, which i did over two weeks ago, After weeks of no communication I was told a quote for repair had been sent (it hadn't) when i questioned why a quote even would be needed as phone is only 10/11 months since purchase, nobody could explain.

Week further on now I have heard (only again with me chasing daily) that the phone needs a new motherboard, but as there is tiny crack on bottom right of phone (not in the visable screen area and smaller than 0.5cm in size) my warrant is void and so its £270+ to fix.

Disgraceful service i've received over the last few weeks and that was the icing on the cake, how can a completely unrelated crack void the warranty for an issue caused by their software from the 7.1.1 update that blew the motherboard? this seems mad to me

But today I saw that my Moto Z ( purchased from Turkey) will not get Oreo Update acc. to the link below, is this correct? Even though Moto Z Play will have the update, Moto Z won't, right?

I finally and permanently resolved my Droid Z "battery" issue, I bought a Pixel 2 XL. My family has owned Moto phones almost exclusively since the advent of the smartphone. But, due to the denial of there being an actual issue with the update that trashed my phone and many others, I will NEVER buy another Moto device!

Hmm, Moto Z is simply removed from that list because I know I was checking that page for various countries before. If they indeed canceled the oreo update, then all I have to say is nice move Lenovo.

So I havent visited the Moto US Upgrade page in a while, now that I have I'm confused and concerned.  If you go to:

It doesnt show an upgrade path for anything purchased via Amazon Prime or AT&T........hoping the site is just broken.  If you choose other reatailer it is listed.

Anyone have any insight?

Does your phone say "RETUS" or "RETAPAC"?  That means RETAIL and country US, APAC (dual sim) I'm not sure, must be the global, but it should be considered RETAIL, and it did show up...  Just my $0.02...   Motorola correct me if I'm wrong, PLEASE.
