Re: Moto Z - extreme battery drain after 7.1.1 update

I think that it's time to show that all this time since 7.1.1 was released was not wasted and SW is fixed.
Really 2-3 weeks for fixing and 4-6 for testing should be enough.

Of course in case that Lenovo is working on it...

So far seems that reeboots and android wear re-pairing were fixed, battery is still worse than anything I've seen last 5 years.

Please show that somebody cares about users, not only about selling a product after strangely positive reviews.

Re: Moto Z - extreme battery drain after 7.1.1 update

There is improvement imho, but a slow one.
Btw I heard from owners of other phones, that by upgrading to 7.1.1 their SoT has decreased as well.

Anyway, any feedback from Moto would be nice, but it would be better to get another upgrade with all of the remaining problem solved, and it doesn't necessary needs to be the Oreo upgrade...

Re: Moto Z - extreme battery drain after 7.1.1 update

I am quite sure this is a reporting error. I just downloaded an app Accubattery to watch my usage, and it shows how many mA the charger provided to fill the battery.  It's showing mine at 1300 mA. I seriously doubt a battery less than a year old has degraded 50%. And 1300 mA would give about 5-6 hours based on my usage. So it's only charging half the battery.  Also I restarted the phone and it lost 25%.  Dropped from 87 to 62.  Restarted again and it dropped to 47.  I restarted it a third time and it remained at 47.  I have been running the phone for half an hour while texting several conversations with the screen at 80% as well as streaming a radio station over bluetooth.  It's been 30 minutes and it remains at 47%.  This is clearly also not accurate.  Has to be a reporting issue.

Try this app, or a similar one, to see how much charge your battery is accepting before it hits 100%

Re: Moto Z - extreme battery drain after 7.1.1 update

This is hilariously the last Moto phone I personally will buy nor will I recommend one in the near future. I wonder how many customers Moto will have to lose before it realizes they need to get S?!#(for lack of a better term) together.

totally

I bought moto because it's pure Android which we expect such issues not to occur. And, moto Z should be high-end price range. I cannot believe lenovo has not provided the fix for that long.

Seriously, when did a stable and consistent software experience(including the battery) become to much to ask. Where the one's shelling out the cash.

I, too, have the battery drain issue and only some of my chargers work now. I've updated my IMEI so please check out my problem too!

Re: Moto Z - extreme battery drain after 7.1.1 update

I'm having the same issue. I charged my phone all night and in just over an hour of having it unplugged I'm at 71% with approx 4 hours left. Seriously? It's only been like this for the last couple of days and I haven't installed any new apps or anything. It's frustrating as hell. I hope this isn't a ploy to get me to buy the battery mod.

Re: Moto Z - extreme battery drain after 7.1.1 update

Well my phone goes 100->90% in just 30minutes with less than one minute of SOT. after 6hrs and less than 1h sot battery is less than 30% (sometimes les sthan 20%).
This should be an example how phone system shall not work.

Maybe we shall talk to google to revert android certification? I think Moto Z being certified is hurting cheap phone companies who don't have such issues.
