Do you still have warranty? Take it to a Service Center near you to have the battery swapped for a new one.

Re: Moto z battery discharge issues

Hi,

I am also facing the same issue. It's quite irritating that after full charge it gets switched off in 20-25 mins . When i Plugged in to charger display immediately 35 % battery and sometime 50% battery but after full charge it does same thing.  I am facing this type of battery issue form past a month.

Please help me to resolve the issue. If any workaround is there please let me know.

Regards,

Yuvraj

Lenovo needs to fix this regardless of root cause, issue Android update or whatever. I'm going to our sales kickoff meeting next week ($2B enterprise SaaS company with 6K employees) having to drag around a not lightweight/ makes a suit look bad  Anker battery pack constantly plugged in to my Moto Z. Hassle/PITA/embarrassing.

I'll be sure to tell at any and every opportunity that ita thanks to Lenovo.

Hello, is Moto team listening ? Do we have a solution yet for this problem of extreme battery drain and phone switching off at ridiculous battery conditions like 30 ~ 40% charge, when the camera is switched on, when the flash on camera is on,  or even when the bluetooth connection is done ? Will we ever have a solution or do we continue to wait eternally ? This is my second moto, and definitely will be the last one if I don't get a solution in near future.

It is time Moto team found solution for this problem rather than their focus on launching new models !

I wouldnt hold my breath that Motorola is going to fix this....This seems to have all started with System Downloads, mainly the 7.1.1.  Everything you state happened to my phone and MANY others.  Unlike Apple or other companies that value their customers and send out a fix, Motorola has chosen to do NOTHING!  So basically they sold us a lemon!  Some people have said that when they sent their phone for service Motorola replaced the motherboard?  Why on earth would Motorola have to replace a motherboard because a download screwed up our phones UNLESS all these phones were defective to begin with.  I know there is a lot of talk about class action law suit and I will be contacting the BBB.  It isnt fair that we did nothing except download and update that is SUPPOSE to improve our pnones and we end up with a brick.  Mine slowly got worse and worse like others have said and know it only works if it is plugged in.  It will shutdown as soon I unplug it despite the fact the battery says I have 97% left.  I will never ever get another Motorola phone again!  I advise everyone else to do the same.  It is a shame, I have always had a Motorola phone but I can no longer put up with a Company that has total disregard for its Customers by selling us garbage and then NOT trying to fix what they themselves broke!

Add me to the group of people who have 100% charged, remove charger 96%, drive ten miles 84%. I went from 96% at 8AM to 3% at 5PM- without using the phone. I have everything I can find turned off.  Was planning on going by the store to ask about it, but after seeing these comments.....I paid way too much money for this to be the status - My phone was purchased (haha still purchasing) December 3, 2016. 15 months and I am constantly recharging.  Forget about using apps the battery will drain faster than my brand new kitchen sink!

Hi All,.

Actual battery performance will vary and depends on many factors including signal strength, network configuration, the age of the battery, operating temperature, features selected, device settings, and voice, data, and other application usage patterns. You can check some tips to extend battery life here.

Please make sure to do the necessary troubleshooting steps here. You can also try a factory reset with no restore. Make sure to back up your data.

If the issue is still persisting, then send it for repair.
