Re: Motorola Z Bluetooth Problems

So having exhausted all avenues without voiding the warranty of the device, i have now booked the device in for repairs this morning with the retailer i purchased from. I even showed them the issue with that phone, and with another device that is working 100%.

So now i will wait and see...and will update with feedback on the outcome.

This isn't a phone/device/hardware at all.

It is in fact, a software/patch/update issue, and Lenovo/Motorola/Google will need to send another update/patch to remedy the Bluetooth and various mods issues.

Recently Moto support told me that all issues should be fixed in latest updates, but seems that my phone kills BT when there is bigger traffic on Wifi - like downloading updates or games, watching YT. It can even recover BT after some time. After around 20h of uptime it's hard to kill BT, but after reboot I need to start download of a game and BT is greyed out...

Hi Tomaszk - Had it been a software issue then it should have impacted all handsets on 7.1.1 however that doesn't appear to be true. But, is it a hardware issue? Don't know! My phone is booked for a 'more focused check' (2nd attempt after lying first time) with the repair centre. Will keep you posted.

I'm willing to bet the Bluetooth bug does in fact affect all Moto Z Droids that have successfully installed the 7.1.1 update.  The reason I feel this way is because most people do not use their Bluetooth, or, just use it for basic purposes otherwise not causing the problem to show.

I've also been in contact with Lenovo and they confirmed that it (and any other updated software related issues) should be "fixed" with the upcoming 8.0 update.

Time will tell.

Problem is that I 'm using phone in my car and it's illegal to do it without handsfree system connected - in this case via BT. So phone is unusable and support is not able to make any decision since 2 weeks. They were given logs, photos, reproduction scenario etc and no decision on their side.

Agree with that. I am exactly the same, want to use the phone in car via BT but unable to. My phone gets collected today, will get back with an update here later in the week. Cheers

The best thing for you to do, is buy a wired headset, and use it until your Bluetooth is fixed.

I asked support what's going on because ticket is open for 10 days and I want to get my phone back working. They replied that they are sorry and tech people are doing everything what's possible to help me.
**removed**, I think that it's time to use social media.

Nah man not all of us. I use Bluetooth to connect to my solo 3 all the time when my phone is charging since there is no headphone jack. So idk if that qualifies as a "basic purpose" or not. No issues yet just that the radio in the phone is bad so range is not that great.
