Batterymod charges only spontaneously

2019-07-31, 6:48 AM

Batterymod charges perfectly most of the time.

Then every now and then it just won't do it.

During the night my new mod didn't charge, so I brought it with me and it started charging up to 24%, but then stopped.

I tried putting on an old batterymod from my Z2play, but it wouldn't charge either.

I've tried restarting the phone and the mod, no use.

Checked so everything is updated properly, both mod and phone.

Hi OskarSv,

Thanks for posting. I'd like to confirm, does the mod won't charge at all or it charges but always stopped at 24%? Also, have you tried using another charger?

Best regards,

No, I actually got it to start charging again, so it went up to 50%.

But then it stopped charging there.

Now the phone is charging slowly too.

Maybe there's a poltergeist living in the phone?

I tried safe mode, made no difference.

Now I downloaded an app to measure the charging.

It was 1-400 mA.

But when I took the plug in and out a little it went up. So if I just find the perfect spot for the plug it works and goes up to nearly 3000 mA, that however is not easy and can take a few minutes.

So I guess it's the plug on the phone. I tried different cords, so it's the phone for sure.

Hi OskarSv,

Thanks for updating. Possible it's the charging port itself. Try at least doing a factory data reset without restore, and see if there's an improvement, otherwise, I recommend visiting a service center for possible repair. Backup your files before doing a reset so you won't lose them.
