Fingerprint sensor to LOCK

Hello community,

Wondering if you have found a way of bringing back this feature.

I grew used to the original Moto Z's fingerprint behavior, since I always locked the phone (locking and turning-off the screen) by holding my finger on the sensor for a second, basically not using the power-button ever and avoiding wear on it. I think it was much more confortable than unlocking with fingerprint and locking with the button as needs to be with is with this model.

Please share your ideas or even correct me if I missed the option entirely.

Thanks!

Re: Fingerprint sensor to LOCK

Hi Juanca_Lorenzo,

Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately, the feature is not available with the Z3 Play. However, I would love to pass this along to our Product Review Teams. Smiley Happy

Re: Fingerprint sensor to LOCK

And implementing this how long would it take? In reality the feature already existed in past phones, so it's a matter of porting it back to this new model.

Re: Fingerprint sensor to LOCK

We can certainly pass along this feedback. I'm wondering, though, how good an idea it is for this particular FPS placement. I hold the phone with my thumb on the right side (I'm lefthanded but others may also hold it like this) and I suspect I would be frequently turning it off by accident.

But we'll share this with the product team. Appreciate the feedback.

Re: Fingerprint sensor to LOCK

At least you should provide us with the choice whether to use the FPS to turn off the screen.  For some mods it is very useful, for example, when using sound boost mod, we cannot lock the screen unless we pick up the phone and press the power button.  Another example is the keyboard mod, I cannot lock the screen when I lift up the phone, therefore very battery consuming when I have nth to type in a meeting.   Please take it into consideration seriously,
