Same story here.

Had a X Play and some other moto Android.

Moved to a Z play and used to lock a lot with the fingerprint sensor.

Moved to a Z3 play and how is it possible to validate this right side unlock / left side lock.

Two different buttons to lock / unlock when using optimal ways to use the phone (so fingerprint unlock) never saw that on any other brand ! It's really a pain all day !

Please, give us some toggle to choose if we want to use the fingerprint to lock and switch screen at the same time.

I just went to the z3 from the z play and this is very inconvenient! I can not stand that I have to lock the screen on the left side of the phone...why is it a differnt button to lock and unlock?!?!?! Please fix this!

i kindly disagreee with this....there is no reason to have 2 different buttons for unlocking and locking, it is very difficult to get used to, especially coming from the zplay.

Hi KIMMYCUPCAKE,

I appreciate your feedback and we consider all suggestions provided to our team. This is working as designed, and other users like it that way. I, myself a right-handed but it's fine with me locking the phone with the power button. You can try some assistive touch apps if you'd like but we don't usually recommend it. It would still up to you. Rest assured we value your feedback. Thank you.

Best regards,
Rich

Re: Fingerprint sensor to LOCK

Why this was the standard way to operate the first Z1 and Z2 and disappear on the Z3 ?

You haven't the previous ones or you would be pissed like us all.

This is not "by design", it's something forgotten by people who don't know / use the Z1/Z2 before.

The sensor is there.

He works for apps when the phone is on.

Please deal better your acquired customer base. Here we had a G4, G4 play, a X Play, Z1 play, Z2 and a RAZR (the android one).

All those with a fingerprint sensor could be locked by the sensor except the Z3 play.

C'm'on !

I hope we could disable the unlock vibrate from the sensor with Android Pie too.

Re: Fingerprint sensor to LOCK

I've just upgraded from the Z Play to the Z3 Play as well and must admit this is the most sensational phone I have had the pleasure of owning, but two things are very strange:

(1) inability to lock the screen without using a manual power button.  It used to be the fingerprint sensor.  Is there a way of locking the screen without risking the power button wearing out over time?

(2) on screen keyboard - where has the minimise feature gone? Eg. When writing a response on a forum such as this, if you need to minimise the keyboard to see what is below it, what button/function do we use?
