Adaptive brightness won't stay off

I disable adaptive brightness in settings > display > adaptive brightness (toggle).

Exiting and reopening the settings menu soon after disabling adaptive brightness shows that indeed it is still disabled.

However, later, I will observe adaptive brightness functioning right before my eyes. Opening the settings menu at this point shows that it is, for some unknown reason, now enabled.

I disable it again but the above sequence of events just keeps happening again and again. I am not even turning my phone off at any point.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Re: Adaptive brightness won't stay off

Hi Arctor,

Thanks for posting. This is odd. Does it automatically re-enabling right away after exiting the Settings and going back to the Settings, or it's only re-enabling after some time? Let me know.

Let's test this on safe mode, so we can isolate your third-party apps.

To Enable Safe Mode
1. Press and hold the Power button until Power off comes up on the screen.
2. Touch and HOLD Power off on the screen until reboot to safe mode appears.

Best regards,

Re: Adaptive brightness won't stay off

Hi,

Thanks for your response!

I finally realized what the cause was. As you suggest, it was a third party app. Specifically, adaptive brightness is enabled upon turning off Twilight (a blue light filter for bedtime use).

It finally hit me when I noticed the display looking a bit strange when stopping Twilight (just earlier today, before seeing your reply).

Thanks again for the help!
