I don't think you understand what the issue is. The phone was purchased new from Motorola. It was unlocked at the factory. Unlocked means it isn't restricted to a single carrier. I did nothing to the phone. An unlocked phone is still "eligible for updates", as it was designed that way from inception. Please consult with someone who understands the issue.

They must have assumed you meant "bootloader unlocked" instead of the retail version unlocked for all carriers. If you want to try the Lenovo Moto Software Assistant you can see if that detects an updated OS for your phone. I had nothing but trouble with it on my Z4 so I can't recommend you use it for updating.
