No 5G Mod.
5G WiFi Signal Strength is also poor (almost 10 dB less sensitivity than the previous MotoZ.

Any idea if the Z3 was any good?  I see those available in places.  Otherwise, I'm with you, it's time to go.  I've come so close to just smashing the thing so many times and it just is not worth the stress.  Only looking at the Z3 as I don't want to lose access to my Moto Mods.

I also had the z2 force. Loved it.  Now I have the Moto z4 and have tons of issues. My service is horrible.  I've had Motorola since they came out with mods, never a service issue until I got the Z4.  Is there a fix?

Thank you

Hi Everyone,

I appreciate all your reports. I have reported this since we received your reports. Everyone who's still here, I need your full cooperation so we can share all the details with our Engineers. I'm still uncertain of what exactly you're experiencing. I understand some of you explained the main behavior wether (Low Signal/Drop Calls). Please share more details of what's happening, when it's happening and where it's happening. Also, I'm asking everyone to update your profile with your IMEI and other details we're requesting. Please see in my previous post on how to update profile. Let me know. Thanks.

Best regards,
Rich

I'm an engineer and I am so glad I returned my Z4 last summer as I could not have put up with the issues for this long.  My Z2 Force is still going strong and I even considered purchasing a new Z2 force since its proven itself to be so reliable.  The longest cell phone I've ever used.

Rich, don't your engineers have an old Z2 laying around?  Based on the posts here it seems all they have to do is place a Z2 next to a Z4 and use their observation skills to see one phone has different reception than the other.  It's a hardware issue and nothing more.

MEI information has not changed.

Problem is low to no signal in areas that should have plenty of signal.  Please see previous posts.  I specifically posted a report fro a program that showed me being across the street from the cell tower with barely a signal.

Due to lw signal, I have callers that report they cannot hear me or that my speach is broken up.  Sometimes calls will drop.

This was my same exact problem.  Not sure how much more we can explain it. I will gladly send you my phone as it is just sitting here currently not being used anymore.

Yep I agree there is nothing more we can give you.  Phone signal is crap everywhere.  I have Wi-Fi calling turned on and sit about 10 feet from the Wi-Fi hub at my office and drop calls all the time because of poor connection.  Currently looking at what to replace this with as I just can't keep using it.  Problem is I purchased on a promo plan and get about half the cost back monthly from Verizon but if I switch phones I have to buy it out.  So about $400 to buy out of a crap phone.

This is just not anything you need more info from us on.  Every Z4 user has this issue.  We are just the voice of the poor people that got sucked into buying these crap phones.  Fix it with a software update or agree to buy them back.  They are HORRIBLE phones for what we should expect in 2020.

Re: Moto Z4 poor signal strength vs Z2 Force

Rich,

I'm going to add another tidbit to this already too long thread. I too have migrated from a Moto z2 droid force to the z4. I live in downtown Chicago where Verizon has implemented 5g. I have the 5g Moto mod installed. There is a Verizon 5g antenna about 200 feet from my front door that went live in April of 2019.  After 6 months or so of Verizon tweaking it's 5g service, I started to receive the 5guwb signal on my Moto z2 force droid in my living room. It's extremely fast. I upgraded to the z4 last December. I'm happy with the phone. But I no longer get the 5guwb signal in my living room on the z4. I still have my z2 force and when I switch back to the z2 I still receive the 5guwb signal (with 3 bars) indoors. I'm hoping that the upgrade to Android 10 will solve this, whenever that comes.

I am properly profiled in these forums with my correct z4 imei.
