2017-12-01, 22:31 PM

Eagerly awaiting the Oreo update, so I go to check for system update on my phone and see this. Thanks Motorola!

I'm on T-mo.  Received & activated my brand new Z2 Force on Thursday, using the SIM that was included in the package.  It immediately updated (which took a while) & shows August 2017 patches.  Check for updates says that I'm up to date.  I guess T-Mo must be WAY behind releasing updates!

The only truly stupid question is the one you SHOULD have asked - but DIDN'T.

That is awesome! My T-Mobile Z2 is still on 7.1.1 with August security patches. I understand 8 will be a while but I'd love to have the latest patches.

Re: Android Oreo update coming Z2 Force!

VZW (NY) has been updating my patches monthly since September I got this device. My buddy on T-Mo (FL) however hadn't received a single update ( we got ours a week apart) and he was still rocking the June patch on his device out the box (which is 2 months before the actual devices release.) After light research we found the culprit to be the SIM card he was using. It was from his old device ( actually last few devices ) switched from Turbo 2 to galaxy j7 to galaxy 7 edge to Moto z2 Force. After inserting a fresh new one he hadn't used yet, I told him he should get the software update within 24 hrs and sure enough he got his September patch.  It seemed to stop there for T-Mo updates but on VZW I've received my October then November patch and now I too checked my update and got the same screen about Oreo coming soon. I'm still on November patch on VZW.  Hope this helps.

This is a good time to do a poll.

Check the system update on your phone and see who is seeing this screen. Are Verizon phones the only ones receiving this notice, or is there any ATT or T-mobile users seeing this screen also.

From what I remember reading there used to be a September patch but it was quickly pulled as it caused some issue with the IMEI being removed (I could be remembering wrong) but nothing has been released since.

I would assume we will be the first Moto phone to get it, right? The current flagship?

I hope it doesn't take as long as it did on my Turbo to get N.

Let's go Moto!
