Moto Mod Question

2017-09-14, 19:01 PM

Currently using the Tumi wireless charger/battery. I throw it on the wireless charger instead of charging phone first when connected with mod. Trying that 80/20% rule keeping phone always at 80% The moto big battery mod has a port for seperate charging, however I hear the bumper has to be removed first. If thats the case when you charge phone does it charge this mod as well and vice versa or is it a completely seperate charge? Thoughts appreciated!

Hi dwwilson

Power Packs with wireless charging can be charged when not connected to the phone with compatible wireless charging pads (sold separately). When the Power Pack is connected to the phone, the phone will charge first before the Power Pack begins charging when placed on a wireless charging pad.

Power Packs without the wireless charging feature can only be charged when attached to the phone. The phone and attached Power Pack are charged simultaneously for fast and efficient charging when connected to the in box TurboPower charger. Third party chargers may not support simultaneous charging of the phone and Moto Mod.

Re: Moto Mod Question

Hey, I'm using the included charger and original cable. It still charges my phone to 100% before charging the power-pack. I'm using the new Z3 Play.

It would be nice to have a software option to set charging limits and charging behavior.

If you ever get around to seeing this, I'd like to thank you for your time.

I bought a battery pack because the Efficiency feature to limit the phone charge to 80%. But charging the battery completely goes against the reason I bought the battery mod--because my phone charges to 100% way before the battery gets close to full.

So, I definitely agree with this post. I'd love a way to limit my phone's charge while it is plugged in to the wall... Or at least an option to charge the battery mod independently to the phone? (I have the basic one with no separate charger)
