It's not a threat it is reality, already a done deal.

And no, if Moto was going to do something for everyone they already would have.  What you can do is call them and have them open a repair ticket, like I did, and pay the $49 to repair and ship you back the phone.

Re: Moto Z2 Screen Scratched Screen

I heard the talk about how easy it was to scratch the screen so I went and had a pro put a screen protector on, but dirt started getting under the bottom part because the shattershield wouldn't let it sit flush. Tried to get the dirt out from under it and ended up messing up the whole protector. So i took it off and made the mistake of waiting a couple of days to go get a new one put on, and sure enough now my screen is already covered in scratches despite the fact that I treat it exactly like I treated my Nexus 6 screen which was still flawless after 3 years of daily use with no screen protector.

Moto, pls respond.

this is a user to user forum - posts are not guaranteed to get a response. And if you start a thread during a holiday week, there are even less people around to offer support.

The phone is not sold as scratch proof, so i would not consider it a defect.

I don't mind scratches, when the sides and top of your phone are peeling after owning it a week, I do care about that

I wish they had a model with gorilla glass instead of this stupid shattershield that had flagship specs.

I agree 100%.  However, since Moto obviously doesn't really care about customer retention, you have to decide your own course of action.

For me the best solution is to first repair and then sell the phone.  I am sure that I am going to lose my butt in the sale due to the widespread complaints, but that's life.  I refuse to keep buying screen protectors that don't stay on the phone or keep paying 49 dollars every time the scratches get bad enough to really bother me.

The lesson it has taught me is to steer clear of all things Moto from this point on, which is really a shame as I have had more Moto phones over the years than any other brand.  From my perspective the way they are handling the issues surrounding this phone are inexcusable.  Not sure how many other posts you have looked at but the frality of the SS is just the tip of the iceberg and every single issue appears to be being handled the same way.  Support pops in ocassionaly to say hi but quickly leaves the party.

Perhaps the company care more about the real meat and potatoes of their operation i.e.  desktops, laptops, and tablets.  Maybe cell phones are considered more of a hobby, who knows but I for one don't plan on investing any more money to find out.
