From what I have heard that is the recommended one to go with.  I have resolved to sell my phone and move back to something that offers gorilla glass.

I bought mine on Aug 23rd and noticed the screen is peeling in the upper left half (migrating to the right now) - so are we still stuck having to pay for a design flaw. Mine has lived with a screen protector and in a case since I purchased it :-/

Re: Moto Z2 Screen Scratched Screen

I joined this forum just so I could reply from what I've been reading. My phone got stolen last week. I was on my way to buy an iPhone 7, stopped in TMobile to get a new SIM card, saw this phone for the first time in my life, fell in love with it and on an impulse bought my first ever brand new phone! I was so excited! I soon became aware of the screen scratching problem and immidatly tried to buy a screen protector which neigher TMobile or best buy carried so I oreded one. I have been SOOO careful with this phone. Today 3 days later I dropped it for the first time. Was squatting using is as a flashlight, fell maybe 3 ft to a flat garage. I could care less about the scratches, I know with a glass screen protector those will go away. However when it fell my screen got a dent/split and now my screen is broken right there!!! It's small, but the pixels are all green and red and don't work in that spot. This is so frustrating. I'm so sad, otherwise I absolutely love this phone!

Edit - Apologies, I made my first ever post in the wrong thread. Mods, I'm not sure how to delete this reply but if you could I would appreciate it.

Surely this should be covered by the 4 year Lenovo screen warranty.

Re: Moto Z2 Screen Scratched Screen

I'm just wondering if Lenovo has released the fix to the early models of the Z2 scratching easily?  I bought one 12/16/2017, and I had read about the easily scratching screen.  I ordered a SuperShieldz from Amazon, and finally got it today, 01/04/2018.  I thought i was very careful handling the phone, but when you hit the light just right, I see several scratches in the screen already.

Is the fix coming soon?

Do we have any indication of what Motorola will be charging to replace the outer lens?

Hi stanleywinthrop,

We're working to announce a repair option in the coming weeks. Just some details to work out - stay tuned.

Hi,

You should not only announce a repair option but when the problem will be solved and if a version of shattershield that is not easily scratched will be released.

Whe will you give an answer about this issue?

I just purchased this phone 3 days ago and my son briefly got ahold of it and ruined the screen. Ran it across the floor once and the the screen in scratched a rediculous amount. Moto stop using this type of screen. I will try to return it I guess. I most likely will be stuck with it for two years. I will never buy Moto again if a fix does not release that doesn't fix it for free. There was no warning the screen was this fragile. I have had samsung galaxy phones since the S1 and never had issues like this. The thing is I tried to get a screen protector right away, but they are not sold anywhere except online. If you are going to sell a screen this fragile provide a screen protector.

i called them and they said they could replace my screen and would not put the SS on it which i didnt want and they would waive the fees, but now they called only to say they were only going to put a SS on and they sctraches will be visible after they put it on, so NO they do not have a solution just to put a another SS on it and saying they fixed the job.
