Intermittent "mini"- restarts driving me crazy

2021-05-14, 6:39 AM

My Z2Play phone for awhile now will suddenly do what I call a "mini-restart. It isn't a real restart. It only takes a few seconds and any apps I had open are still open and at what ever point I was at before. I do lose anything I was typing or had copied, but otherwise it is the same as it was.

It says my updates are up to date.

This is the only thing it does wrong.

It does not seemed to be triggered by anything I am doing or amount of time between the mini-restarts. It doesn't matter if the battery is low, full, charging, or not charging. It happens in any and all apps I use. It doesn't matter if I have only one app running or five.

Help please. I love this phone and don't want to get a new one! But I am fed up and about ready to pitch it in the lake!

Hi Laura in Oregon

Are you using an SD card? If so, I would suggest removing it and see if that helps. Possible if your storage is full, the phone will start to act up. Also, see if there's improvement while the phone is in safe mode.

To Enable Safe Mode
1. Press and hold the Power button until Power off comes up on the screen.
2. Touch and HOLD Power off on the screen until reboot to safe mode appears.
Just turn off and on the phone to boot back to normal mode.

Best regards,
