Motocast for RAZR MAXX HD?

2012-10-25, 17:29 PM

When will Motocast be available for the RAZR MAXX HD?  I tried to install it on the demo model at the Verizon Store and it showed "Not Supported".  This was one of the main things I like about my Xyboard and was planning on purchasing the RAZR MAXX HD to have this functionality on my phone as well.  If it's not available onthe phone, then I will have to consider other options.  Thanks!

How about it, Motorola? Just an answer would be nice. I bought your new "state of the art" phone and would like to know when it will be able  to connect wirelessly to my computer like my old Bionic does.

It really is not a hard question..

Yes I understand it works fine on the Original Razr and Razr MAXX.  But for some reason that is incomprehensible to me they seem to have chosen not to support Motocast on the two phones that should have the same basic functionality with better screens!  An answer from Moto would be nice.  The support folks say it does not support it, but supports Device Manager, which from what I could tell does not include any of the same functionality...

Looks like Google buying out Moto hasn't fixed some of the ongoing issues.  I'm still on the fence between the Moto Razr MAXX HD and the Samsung GS3.  I'm going to be pulling the trigger in the next week.  If I don't get a response soon, I guess that in and of itself will be my answer...

I keep seeing this question. People asking if the razr maxx hd has motocast. It does. I bought the hd a few weeks ago and it does have motocast. The only problem is that it only works sometimes. The rest of the time it says my computer is offline even though it isn't. I haven't been able to find an actual working solution to this yet. People are saying that it is ice cream sandwich bugs and that we will have to wait for jellybean upgrade. Who knows.

Hi tex.houston.Maybe you could give us some tips on how you got this to work.

On my wife's Maxx HD there is no motcast option.  When I go into Accounts&sync>Add Account there is no option to add a Motocast account.

So how did you get it to work?

it was preloaded. look at your apps. but it isn't really called motocast anymore. it is separated into three different icons now. my music, my gallery and my files on your phone. as soon as i plugged my phone into the computer it asked if i wanted to install motocast on to my computer. i then chose which files (my music, my pictures, my documents etc.) i wanted to use and finished installation. this is all i did straight out of the box. the only problem is that it only works when it wants to. half the time it says that my computer is offline even though it isn't. so i can't access my files. many other people are having the same problem. i would be interested to know if when you start using yours, if it actually works like it should.

Tex.houston: This is interesting. My wife's phone does not have those "My....."apps. I know what you are talking about because I have them on my Bionic after it was upgraded to ICS.
She just got this phone and I wonder if it has been removed since it appears Motorola is not officially supporting the wireless portion of motocast on the Maxx HD.

I beileived that I had purchased the HD version. But now I am realizing that this is not true. I just checked the model number on my phone and the packaging and it appears that I have the Droid Razr Maxx. Motocast still doesn't work half the time though. Sorry for my earlier posts. I was mistaken.

Just upgraded from the Droid Bionic to the Razr Maxx and loved the extended motocast tools on the Razr Maxx.  Had to swap the Razr Maxx for the Razr Maxx HD last night, and noticed no more motocast compatability.....   a true shame.

How is anyone linking to their media files on their home network or other computers?

Any replacements worth while out there?

Any news on if motorola is going to make the software work with the Razr Maxx HD????
