A7600-F wifi problem after 4.4.2 update

2014-08-26, 8:21 AM

I have odd problem with wifi after applying system update for my A7600-F tablet.

Update version is now A7600F_A442_001_019_140807_ROW. Just check and that is the latest one.

Before updating I had no wifi problems. I have used same wifi settings (d-link dir-615, channel 6, wpa security) for long time and all my other devices are working allright.

On day time everything seems to working. I have no problem watching Netflix or other streaming services or just browsing web.

But in evening wifi connections "drop off". No indication that something is wrong, just see buffering on streams or if browsing get information that I'm offline. After shutting and restarting wlan from tablet everything is ok. For 6-7 minutes and then connection drops off again. This keep happening all evening.

I live in remote part so only wifi in area is my own. I have done factory reset. No luck, same problem.

I'm really confused because before update everything was fine, but now I get this really weird problem.

I could understand if problem is present all time, but only in evenings.

Any ideas? Someone having similar problems?

have the same issue after updating to A5500H_A442_001_019_140808_ROW (my tab is A5500H)
sometimes, cant connect to wifi especially after sleeping
sometimes, wifi suddenly drops off for no reason
on the previous build A5500H_A442_000_017_140709_ROW, wifi works flawlessly
i think the only solution is to get back to the previous build

I really would like to get this fixed.

Going back to previous build would likely fix this, but I have no idea how to do that.

I have the identical problem with an A5500-F after updating to 4.4.2. After about 7 minutes of streaming a Netflix movie, it appears that the WiFi crashes. No other app can use the WiFi at this point and there is no response from the tablet to a ping from another computer on the network. Disabling and re-enabling the WiFi in the Settings menu clears the problem but after another few minutes on Netflix the problem reoccurs.

can you be more specific about the build that your tab's been updated to?

Re: A7600-F wifi problem after 4.4.2 update

I tried again yesterday evening. This time opened only Youtube apps.

Same thing, after few minutes wifi crashes. So for me it's not only Netflix but all streaming.

This is really frustrating. Main reason I bought this tablet was that I can watch Netflix and Youtube. In that area it is now failing miserable.

It really was working perfect before update. If I only know how to reset back to former buld, I would do it instantly.

Of course best way is to get new corrected build from Lenovo, but seems that there are no one interested in doing so.

At this rate, this will be my first and last Lenovo.

For now, someone who can should do app that will shutdown and restart wifi in few minutes interval so I don't have to do that manually because of this wifi error...

well, you can roll back to the build A5500F_A442_000_013_140526_ROW

read this guide to do it right

the only difference is that you have to use firmware and flash tool from this package

Update:

I set up another wifi network.

I have ZyXEL adsl router, but I haven't used it's wifi because I have separate wifi router and it had worked for every machine, even with my tablet before update.

Now I have really good old wifi network and little poorer new wifi network.

I changed primary wifi in tablet to this new network and since that no wifi freezes.

This is not a proper solution, but at least I can use my tablet now instead of throwing it to rubbish bin.
