Re: A7600-F wifi problem after 4.4.2 update

If you go to settings then to WLAN, press and hold on your network ID, you can then choose Modify. Once in the modify screen choose advanced options, set proxy to manual, and enter:

192.168.1.1

8080

test

Then save that configuration. Turn off wifi, then back on, go back into the modify screen, and then set the proxy to none. Save again. Wifi off and then on again, and it should then work flawlessly.

I tried the manual proxy fix with no result. I plugged another wifi router into the lan port on my router, and have the tablet as the only device connected to that router, it's temporarily working. hope they release the OTA update soon. We have three days before we can't return it anymore, and it's going back if there's no fix.

Did you try modifying the proxy on the device itself using the instructions above your post?

I thought maybe you had only tried at router level.

No, I have a dumb comcast router that won't let me do anything. Like I said, I plugged in an old Cisco router into a LAN port, and it's working ok, but it's a ridiculous fix.

Re: A7600-F wifi problem after 4.4.2 update

Hi all:

My lenovo A8 5500 also began to have this problem after the android update. For me, the temporaly solution has been to use a static IP. . Since I decided to try this, my tablet has being connected for two weeks without interruption.

First, to avoid ip conflicts, I setup a static DHCP assignation in the router to the tablet. Then, I assigned this IP manually to my tablet.

No problems since then. :-)

Cheers

Have not had this issue. I run through tandem routers: an "older" D-Link which is wired to one of those Verizon "all in one" wireless/modem routers. As mentioned, I also get flawless service through the SonosNet. However, have not tried outside routers.

BTW, anyone having these issues using McAfee?  Some are uninstalling and their kitkat phones are getting wifi again.

Just FWIW, since this issue with kitkat is widespread, a lot of solutions out there. Noticed on Sprint forum for HTC one phones, they are also having issues. Advice from sprint tech was to change the name of the phone under "wifi-direct". And it's working for nearly all users. For ours this would be settings > wlan > three dots > wifi direct > rename device.

Mine is named A7600_e74d. Now in the Sprint forum tech had everyone rename their phones "HTC One".  No idea what they were called, but if you wanted to give it a try (and name is A7600 or something) don't come looking for me if your tablet gets sucked into a parallel dimension.
