Re: A7600-F wifi problem after 4.4.2 update

Hi Pratik,

The only thing I can suggest about MacAfee is perhaps it altered a setting on your router setup (or added something) that remains in effect unless uninstalled, which is what users who were successful, did. Your call, of course.

Let me try that too.

One thing I noticed.
I am using Telmex Internet service and have this issue with it.
Then, I also went to an open wifi zone and saw the tab is working flawlessly without issues.

Seems to be something wrong with router settings.
Am doing a follow up with the internet service provider telmex.

PLease guide me on if any settings that you are aware that may cause issue.

Pratik. whenever I've had issues that just seemed to be with a particular router I've cured it by doing a hard reset on the router returning it to factory settings or installing the latest router firmware.

There is an issue with kitkat, but not everyone is suffering from it. If only your home routers is causing you trouble, it's probably your router, not Tab or kitkat. Reset your router, make sure it has the latest, factory firmware, then -- if it works, go back in and set up your security and see if it still works.

If you're still having issues, then let's take a look at your settings.  I have seen cases where a particular piece of hardware (phone etc.) will have an issue with a partucular router.  So, that's also possible, but unlikely.

Did someone tried this?

Maybe a unofficial solution :smileyfrustrated:

Don't bother. That's a spam site. Change the last parts of the URL to anything and it will claim to have a lollipop ROM for it.

Example:
http://www.444kitkat.org/mp3-0/bull-pucky.html

They make money by forcing you to jump through surveys and offers to achieve each of the download links. I did it for all of the archives around Christmas and one assembled, IIRC, it was just a crap generic ROM and didn't even say what target it was compiled to. No matter what device you are supposedly downloading for it is the same archive.

The temporary fix was working for mine, but now I am having to restart my wifi every time I use it, which is inconvenient. I wish Lenovo would show a little more concern, and at least sort out just the bug.

Ditto to all of the comments in here... same wifi problem here too and no solution, not happy :(

I have an e-reader and don't need a MP4 player, I need a tablet that actually works on the net. I was so stoked with this tablet less than 2 weeks ago when I bought it, I even rang the store to thank them for their glowing reccomendation (up-sell), but the update really killed the tablet's functionality.

Very dissapointed that this problem has been left unattended by Lenovo for so long and that the last update wasn't pulled until the issue was resolved.

It wouldnt be so bad if they gave you the option to roll back the updates, or just released a previous firmware you could download and apply. I'd even be ok with it wiping the entire tablet if it fixed the problem. It is literally making a great tablet unusable.
