I'm on Fedora 27 Gnome (the current kernel is 4.13.16-300) and after supend the fan start running 100% leading to system thinking to be overheated and automatically shutting down. So I can't suspend my laptop in Linux.
My firmware is up-to-date and is at the current version of 2.25.
Here's a blog post (https://christian.kellner.me/2017/11/07/linux-on-the-t470s-suspend-and-fan-noise/) of the same problem on t470s that you have solved fixing a bug in the firmware.
I've asked for help in the comments and they have suggested me to open a bug issue, that I've done.
Bug link: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1512275 and they have suggested me to ask for help directly to you, so... here I'm :-)
In the past a same issue was solved with a firmware update: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-11e-Windows-13-E-and/E540-Suspend-Resume-failure/m-p/1868488#M...
Please solve this issue. I know it is a not-so-new laptop, but is the best laptop I've ever buyed, it's solid and a great worker. Since I can't live without linux, please solve the issue.
Thanks a lot
