Tell me please, is there a possibility to get to work Lenovo DU9019D1 (ThinkPad USB 3.0 Dock) on Linux Ubuntu or Linux Mint? Displays do not work. On the internet on the subject is almost no information, of. drivers only under MS Windows, alternative drivers could not find. Thank you!

Is the current Linux kernel supporting this dock nowadays?

The dock uses DisplayLink protocols. Try to install generic Ubuntu drivers available on http://www.displaylink.com/downloads/ubuntu

My current issues with the Ubuntu driver are that:

1. the audio doesn't work with the USB 3.0 dock's headphone jack port, and

2. it doesn't go into sleep/suspension mode if I close the lid of my P50 computer with NVidia driver installed (the cursor keeps jittering around with left-button pressed by the software once I close the lid).

I was using the official driver and then the xrandr settings to enable an external monitor to be connected. Ubuntu 16.04.2 is my current system. Any idea?

I am resurrecting this thread as I use a T460s + USB Dock 3.0 setup and I have a problem with the fan on the laptop: every like 2-3 minutes the fan starts spinning at high speed (and pitch) which is very annoying... with the normal dock I did not had this problem but here pushing everything through USB seems to be not so easy... I do not know what to try... I will try changing the USB port to see if any other is "better connected" and I have already changed in BIOS the Thermal profile on balanced (which improved a bit the thing as now the fan starts not so oft and not for so long, nevertheless it is still bothering...). I could also override the fan control but I would not do it... or if I will do it, I will have first to test and to keep it under observation to see that everything goes ok... and I will need a period when I will have the time to do this... Any idea is welcomed. Thanks.
