I am trying to find out how I can run Linux on this device and which Linux to use.
I have been told it will support Linux.
I have tried a Ubuntu Live usb but it wont boot . It load the Ubuntu start up screen but then goes black screen. I waited like 20 30 min and still nothing.
I know the USB is good as I tested it on a Lenovo R61 and it booted fine.
I tried a CentOS USB and it wont boot. This last one is sue to a CentOS not supporting UEFI on live usb.
I was told the OS installed should be fine.
I want to keep the windows 10 image and install this along side.
I have downloaded recovery media to be safe.
Anyone try to load Linux on this device?
Any help is appreciated.

So I have tried Ubuntu and mint Linux with no success.
However my device doesn't seem to want to boot.
See the attached screen shot I was finally able to get from it.
Also I followed these instruction. This guy did a nice write up for sure.
I also tried these links with no success.
This is all it does.

Which variant of Miix 320 are you having? (mine is the 4GB ram variant)
Did you try booting while the power was connected? If so, try while the power cable is not connected. Try both combinations.
Also, are you using the latest Ubuntu 18.04? Try using the daily build from here. http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/

4G internal with 128 SSD. Windows 10 installed.
Yes I tried with power and without power. Not sure why that would matter but I did try it.
Yes I am using the latest Ubuntu build.
I also tired the latest Mint Linux build just to see if it would work.

I just rebuilt im USB device and still same issue.
Do you know if there is any BIOS updates for this device?
How do I find the latest release on this site? Maybe that will help?
The BIOS I have now is
BIOS : 5HCN19WW(4.0)
MTM : 80XF006GUS

So I decided to repartition my drive and do the install as the USB boot was not working.
Well the installer wont work either. Gets to a point then just hangs.
Ubuntu logo in the wrong orientation and I did add the :
linux /casper/vmlinuz.efi file=/cdrom/preseed/ubuntu.seed boot=casper quiet splash nomodeset i915.modeset=1 fbcon=rotate:1 ---
line to the boot. Just gets to a certain point and hangs on the logo.
USB is solid red light on it.
About to give up and send it back. Buy a dell. Good price on this but if it wont work it load Linux useless to me.
At least costco give me 90 day to mess with it.

When you reach the point where the ubuntu logo, just try closing the lid for a second and open it again.
If that alsod doesn't work, I'm not aware of any other possible solutions

Yes I did that too. It did not work.
OK Look like it may got back to costco then.
I patched windows 10 last night and upgrafed the BIOS and now the rotation of the screen won't work.
This is just junk and wont work for me as is.
Ill try to call Lenovo on the Windows issue but I do not have a good feeling they will help.
No good support from them so far on this device.
Probably my last Lenovo product.

So got on with support and we worked out the rotational issue.
They took control and did a fews things. Now it works.
Should not be that hard but OK its working as win10 again.
now back to the Linux issues
