Re: Miix 510 Linux support?

Hello There,

I just installed Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS, works like a charm.

Few things to adjust (mappping of hotkeys, keyboard backlight, automatic screen rotate).

Enjoy.

Re: Miix 510 Linux support?

Hi,

Can you try to connect, disconnect, lock screen, unlock screen with and without keyboard ?

Do you really want your miix to switch orientation ? You can do a script that to that when you want (not when accelerometer want).

Re: Miix 510 Linux support?

Well, I received mine few days ago.
I installed Debian Stretch. It went smooth says (prepare a way to install proprietary driver for wifi (intel one)).

Pen, touchscreen/pen are  performing ok.

Re: Miix 510 Linux support?

I edited the script. You need to install libnotify-bin to have notifications with gnome3.

#!/bin/bash

token="/home/quentin/iamatablet";

if [ -e $token ]
then
	rm $token
	xrandr --output eDP-1 --rotate normal
	sleep 0.2
	xinput enable "Wacom HID 508C Finger touch"
	xinput enable "SIPODEV Lenovo HID Device Touchpad"
	sleep 0.1
	gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power sleep-inactive-ac-timeout 1800
	gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power sleep-inactive-battery-timeout 900
	gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.session idle-delay 0
	gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.screensaver lock-delay 0

	xsetwacom set "Wacom HID 508C Pen stylus" rotate none
	xsetwacom set "Wacom HID 508C Pen eraser" rotate none

	notify-send "Desktop mode"
else
	touch $token
	xrandr --output eDP-1 --rotate normal
	sleep 0.2
	xinput disable "Wacom HID 508C Finger touch"
	xinput disable "SIPODEV Lenovo HID Device Touchpad"
	sleep 0.1
	gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power sleep-inactive-ac-timeout 3600
	gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power sleep-inactive-battery-timeout 900
	gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.session idle-delay 0
	gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.screensaver lock-delay 3600

	xsetwacom set "Wacom HID 508C Pen stylus" rotate none
	xsetwacom set "Wacom HID 508C Pen eraser" rotate none

	notify-send "Tablet mode"
fi
	sleep 0.2

Create it where you want (~/Desktop is fine), give it extension .sh

Create ChangeMode.desktop in ~.local/share/applications/ containing followin lines :

#!/usr/bin/env xdg-open

[Desktop Entry]
Name=ChangeMode
Comment=This do what you want (rotate screen ???
Exec=/home/quentin/yoga.sh#Could be other
Icon=/home/quentin/yoga.png#Could be other
Terminal=false
Type=Application

So you will have an icon showing this "Application". In that case it simply disable the Touch but keep the Pen when in Tablet Mode.

EDIT : I found out that the camera is not working out of the box (Cheese dont recognise it). Debian Stretch.

Re: Miix 510 Linux support?

Great, thanks for this feedback. Other than the camera, does plugging / unplugging keyboard and sleep / resume work fine ?

Re: Miix 510 Linux support?

Keyboard is not a probem when connecting/disconnecting.

I got some issues with sleep / resume. Computer sleeps when I cover it with keyboard. It wakes up when I remove it and press a key. Sometime I get it hard to wake up the computer. I don't know how it is bugging systemically.

I'm still unable to remap keys (like volume mute,plus or minus). Does anyone know how to get the key signal ?
