@aproximacion

> do you know a way to query battery drain between the latest metric before sleep and the first metric on laptop resume in PromQL? or you just take a look hovering the mouse?

i'm not sure if we can query floats, but the view that i'm looking at is like this:

https://i.imgur.com/kJSIUUY.png

basically, it reports battery state at all times, obviously except appropriate sleep states, like s3, s5 for sure.

looking at the chart, it even went down couple of times during the s0 (normal functioning).

let me know, if i understood you correctly.

So yes, S3 is still broken.

Put computer to sleep yesterday after I left office(at 100%(ish) charge), 16 hours later 69% battery left

I don't think S3 is broken (well maybe a little but not entirely), the real "problem" is that the T14s (and T14) uses DDR4 and not LPDDR4x. In S3 the RAM is still active and the low power state of DDR4 sucks, it's not very low power.

I don't think S3 is broken (well maybe a little but not entirely)

I have on my desk T14s Intel and X13 AMD

T14s Intel loses up to few percents of battery charge over 2-day weekend in suspend.

X13 AMD loses ~15% over night (with 80% charging cap my X13 wouldn't even survive through the weekend in suspend)

So definitely S3 on AMD is broken!

Please, stop confusing people by saying it's not a problem. This thread is already 27 pages long and the issue received effectively no attention from Lenovo (it hasn't even been acknowledged)!

the real "problem" is that the T14s (and T14) uses DDR4 and not LPDDR4x

Do you know what type of memory is used in Intel versions of the same laptops?

I don't think it is the case:

An older T480 also uses DDR4 RAM and has much lower power drain in stand-by (~0,35W vs. ~0,75W)

This. We have Intel-based X1Cs and they are miles better when it comes to energy usage in S3/S5.

In regards to P14s/X13 I can attest that employee has taken former with them on a business trip and the thing has discharged before they were able to finish a presentation. Thankfully client had a USB-C charger, but this wasn't a great 1st impression.

T470s in S3 could easily withstand a full month(I know that, it has done it multiple times) and T14 AMD cannot do even a weekend?

T470s also uses standard DDR4 SODIMM(I know, because I have myself upgraded RAM on it)

So, yes, S3 on T14 AMD is definitely broken

After 27 pages and long wait for new version it is very disappointing to see that S3 issue was not addressed. Can we get a response from someone from Lenovo on what is the plan? I believe many people, including myself, are contemplating returning the laptop. The situation, quite frankly, is ridiculous.
